My past trips

This was my second trip to India with Maria, and first time in Varanasi. Varanasi is a truly magical city, with lots to explore. The hotel staff, professor, and guides were all top notch, and we were very well taken care of. Big thanks to Maria and her team!
This was such a unique, inspiring and transformative experience! There is no place on earth quite like the sacred city of Varanasi.
This was an experience of a lifetime! The physical journey was nothing compared to the psychological and emotional one. Fantastic staff, knowledgeable and experienced teachers, and generous hosts made the journey heartfelt and memorable! Let go and give in to learning and experiencing another part of the world. Thank you, Maria.
This was a once in a lifetime trip for me! Maria made this trip exceptional with her knowledge of India and the culture. I am forever grateful to have had this experience. Namaste🙏🌟
This was the trip of a lifetime for me. Maria organized a beautiful journey for all participants. Her knowledge of India and the sacred pilgrimages, myths and temples shine through. Everything about this trip was perfect. Everything was magic.
This was my first trip to India and I had an amazing experience. It is difficult to put into words, but "life-changing" is certainly an adequate phrase for my time there. Rishikesh is a vibrant and colorful city, full of temples and humble and kind people. Maria is an amazing person and leader. I was safe and healthy at every moment because Maria puts so many hours and effort into planning and making sure that this happens. If you want to experience India, this trip is a great way to be immersed with someone that you can trust and count on every step of the way....from the drives to and from the airport and every detail in between. My heart grew exponentially in India.
It is difficult to explain how phenomenal this trip was. I came with an open heart and India filled me....that is the closest I can get to using words to describe my experience. It was life-changing and humbling. What I can describe is Maria. Vibrant, full of life and an amazing leader. With every turn, I felt safe and knew that she had things planned that would keep us safe and healthy. Never once did I doubt her leadership. She really went above and beyond what I felt would have been adequate. The food, the outings, the stories. If you want to be immersed in "India" but have a little fear or trepidation....go with Maria! She is amazing.
It was an amazing experience, everyone was great, the Hotel accommodations were great, really nice staff, tours were very well planned to incredible places and Maria awesome as always
This was a trip of a life time and for an extremely affordable cost. We visited so many temples and even participated in rituals which probably wouldn't have happened on a regular tour. It was a very special experience. Our days were very full and enriching. It was life changing!
Wow! where do I start? This was my first trip to India, a destination that had always been on my bucket list. I had met Maria Garre at a local yoga studio via a weekend workshop about Ayurveda. So when this retreat popped up on my radar I knew I could not pass it up. This is exactly the India experience I was looking for, and was not disappointed. I traveled on my own, felt safe the entire time, and I met such a great group of ladies. Each day started with meditation on the Ganga followed by yoga in the studio located right in the hotel. Then each afternoon included some sort of excursion- visiting temples, hiking, shopping where the locals shop, white water rafting, or indulging in Ayurvedic spa treatments. The 10 days are well planned - and each excursion is optional- but I took advantage of each one! If you are looking to experience India and all of its wonderful chaos, (and sacred cows) I would highly recommend this trip. It felt like walking through the pages of a National Geographic magazine. Namaste Maria for an amazing experiance - one I will never forget, and Ganesh willing, get to repeat!
Thank you for making the old new again, every time. While I could travel alone, it’s better with you & the exceptional people you bring together. I highly recommend Nivana Palace, Sagar Tours & Sacred India Retreats for keeping us all at ease. Grateful the retreats are sacred & fun. Tip: never forego a chance to jump in the Ganga. It could change your life.
We had a great time! Beautiful location, excellent food, wonderful staff & Maria with her great stories, amazing yoga & special friendship. One of my most favorite trips yet.
