She did her medical training at Johns Hopkins, Columbia and Cornell Universities. She performs surgery and tailors chemotherapy for women with cancer. Dealing with end of life on a daily basis drew her to yoga in order to deal with stress and to learn to live life to the fullest. Her favorite styles of yoga include Aerial, Kundalini, and Yin yoga. Shazia has frequently traveled to Bali for extended periods and is very passionate about guiding your exploration of Bali. She fell deeply in love with Bali because of her love of yoga, scuba diving, the spiritual culture, kind local people, and delicious healthy food. What if I want my own room?All packages are listed as a single package in a shared room. We highly recommend sharing a room, we are happy to pair you with a compatible roommate. We are gathering with the intention of cultivating community.&nbsp; We have never had a problem with roommates in our experience hosting retreats. On the contrary, it fosters building new life-long friendships. But if you are really wanting to have your own room, you can do so by adding a private supplement upgrade package. Choose the same room category as your original package.&nbsp; Is this package refundable?No. Bliss In Retreats are non-refundable and exceptions will not be made. The package is transferrable to another individual if you arrange the transaction.&nbsp; Do I have to know how to practice yoga to come?No experience is necessary. We have had many people come with all experiences, including never having been on a mat. We just ask you to come with an open heart and an open mind. Can I bring my kids?Children are welcome at Soulshine. However, if time off allows, we intentionally picked the week after Winter break so you could choose to travel to Bali with your family during Winter break and then stay on solo for the retreat week to focus on yourself. We do not recommend bringing children to the morning sessions so you can focus on your practice and give yourself the opportunity to connect with the group. Soulshine offers excellent caregivers at very reasonable rates. Children over 1 will be an additional charge to stay in your room.&nbsp; Is tax included in my package?Yes. 21% government tax and service is included. Is airfare included?Airfare is not included. What airport do I fly into?Your airport Is located in the city of Denpasar. Airport code: DPS Do I need travel insurance?Travel insurance is required and covers both issues with flights, luggage and international health insurance. We are not responsible for any losses related to travel delays or flight cancellations.&nbsp;Check with your Health Insurance Provider. Most offer travel insurance at a low cost, typically around $200.&nbsp; When should I arrive?Due to the jet-lag, we highly recommend arriving early to adjust to the time change. If your time off allows we recommend a little longer, if possible.&nbsp;Check in at Soulshine begins at 3pm on the first day of the retreat and check out is at 11am on the last day of the retreat. If you fly in early, you can leave your bags in the luggage storage and enjoy the pool while you wait for check in. If your flight back home is late at night, you can also put your luggage in storage and enjoy the property and spa.

🛫 Travel Essentials: FAQs
• Bali is a 12-hour time difference from Eastern Standard Time, jet lag can be quite grueling, if your time off allows, we highly recommend planning a trip of at least 2 week duration. We will be happy to recommend other travel destinations in Bail including visiting the coast or the small islands off Bali’s mainland, where you can find some of the best beaches, surfing and scuba diving in the world.
 
• Visa Information: Check your visa requirements <a target='_blank' href="http://www.balitourismboard.org/immigration.html.%C2%A0">here</a>. For US Citizens a 30-day visa upon arrival is seamless at the airport. A 60-day visa can be applied for ahead of time online.&nbsp;
• Airport: Fly into Denpasar Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS).
 
Remember you can lose up to two days with the time change and flight time, so double check your arrival date and retreat start date.
 
• Transportation: Ground transportation from DPS to Soulshine and back is included. For Daily transport, private transfers or shared shuttles can be arranged by Bliss In Retreats.
 
Make sure that you have a passport valid for at least 6 months from the arrival date or you will be turned away from your departing city. You must also have proof of a return ticket. &nbsp;
 
• Electricity: Bali operates on 220V with European-style plugs. Bring a universal travel adapter.
• Vaccinations: Make sure you are up-to-date on routine vaccines. Consult your doctor for travel health advice. Covid-19 vaccination is NOT required for entry, the was changed in June 2023.
• Water: We recommend only drinking filtered or bottled water and eating at vetted restaurants to avoid "Bali belly".
 
☀️ Weather &amp; Packing Tips
Experience Bali’s tropical weather with temperatures in the mid to high 80s. January is in the rainy season, most days could be sunny and sometimes just short bouts of rain. Best to be prepared and bring a raincoat as quality raincoats are hard to find in Bali. Year-round in the evenings we recommend wearing flowy, breathable pants and long sleeve shirts for protection from mosquitoes.&nbsp;
