Avrei voluto fare il tour in 4x4, ma durante il periodo del mio viaggio questo non era disponibile a causa della chiusura della strada. Mayan mi ha quindi proposto come alternative il percorso a piedi o a cavallo, e ho scelto di affrontarlo a piedi. È stato sicuramente faticoso, ma ne è valsa davvero la pena! Un grazie speciale alle nostre guide Alex e Angel, sempre presenti, professionali e disponibili per ogni necessità, consiglio o parola di incoraggiamento. Erano in numero adeguato rispetto al gruppo e hanno avuto grande pazienza nell’aspettare tutti, anche chi aveva più difficoltà e necessitava di procedere più lentamente. Purtroppo le condizioni nuvolose non ci hanno permesso di vedere molto durante il percorso, ma questa è la natura! In compenso, una volta tornati al campo base, abbiamo avuto la fortuna di assistere a un paio di spettacolari eruzioni durante la notte e a un’alba mozzafiato. 🌋🌅 Un’esperienza impegnativa, ma assolutamente indimenticabile e che rifarei senza esitazione! ❤️

We loved our experience with them! They were incredibly patient, stayed by our side the whole hike, and made us feel safe the entire time. We highly recommend them—they made the trip so much better.

Great experience, despite a last minute change from the 4x4 trip to the traditional hike (not the fault of the company--the farm they use for 4x4 rides was closed for entry at the last minute and we switched to the hike). Great support, leadership, and personality from our guides. Lodging was acceptable--definitely rustic, but with plenty of sleeping bags and blankets to keep warm. Bathrooms along the hike and at basecamp are VERY primitive pit toilets. Bring toilet paper!! Be warned that the lunch given on day 1 will just be handed to you in a plastic bag and you'll be responsible for carrying it up; make arrangements to be able to carry it! Because of a miscommunication, my hiking partner and I weren't given lunch which was disappointing--I believe it was because of the change from 4x4 to traditional hike. There are 5-6 little stands with people selling gatorade, snacks, and coffee along the way. You can pay a porter to carry up some gear/supplies, we paid additional 30usd/each way for 2 people which was WELL worth it since we weren't in the best shape ever for the hike. Overall highly recommend, but don't expect all the creature comforts. 5/5 stars for the guides and views; of course it was one of the most beautiful (but challenging) experiences I've ever had.

Booked this as a solo traveler and I felt very safe with the group concept! The guides were super helpful and they provided almost everything! They would always check in with everyone and give you all the information you will need! They have plenty of rental equipment! Be sure to have cash on hand for this hike for all the extra add ons of your choosing! Would recommend!
