The guides and drivers were amazing, I also liked the food and accommodations. They are simple cabins but you know what you are getting into when you decide to go spend the night at a volcano. I was the only one who decided not to do the fuego trek and I am so happy I followed my intuition and the research I had done. Two women came back feeling terrible, one throwing up and the other one couldn't breath due to the altitude sickness, most people were exhausted and complaint they spent most of the time walking a path where you can't actually see the volcano. So the 6 hours they used to go up and down I was happily drinking cocoa and admiring the volcano from the base camp. Altitude sickness is no joke, I also couldn't breath very well when I went to bed, take it seriously and enjoy the view without putting yourself at risk! It is an incredible experience and the guides are amazing.

Para la excursión nos prestaron la chaqueta, también prestaban gorro y guantes. Alquilaban los palos para la caminata. Dieron un sándwich de pollo para el almuerzo y pasta en la noche para la cena. Nos subieron en 4x4 y luego fue una caminata fácil de 45 minutos al campamentos en donde hay cabañas de madera, y se duerme en colchonetas y sleeping bags. Hicimos la caminata a fuego que fue bastante difícil para nosotros, sin embargo al llegar a la cima estuvo muy nublado y no pudimos ver la erupción desde allá, la vimos de regreso al campamento ya de noche. Por supuesto el clima es algo que no pueden controlar. Los guías nos acompañaron y ayudaron mucho en el camino de regreso. Hicimos el tour sunset por lo que nos regresamos a antigua y llegamos alrededor de la media noche.

Tuve una experiencia increíble haciendo senderismo al Volcán de Fuego en Guatemala, y gran parte de ello fue gracias a nuestro guía, Mardo. Desde el inicio demostró profesionalismo, conocimiento de la ruta y una excelente actitud. Siempre estuvo atento al grupo, asegurándose de que todos nos sintiéramos seguros y cómodos durante la caminata. Además de guiarnos por el sendero, compartió información interesante sobre los volcanes, la naturaleza y la cultura local, lo que hizo la experiencia aún más enriquecedora. Su energía positiva, paciencia y pasión por su trabajo marcaron la diferencia. Ver las impresionantes erupciones del Volcán de Fuego fue una experiencia inolvidable, y sin duda recomiendo hacer esta aventura con Mardo. We had a great experience with Mayan Outdoors - the staff and guides were very friendly, helpful and accomodating. The Fuego hike was very difficult but they made sure to be there with us the whole time. Thank you very much for such a fantastic experience!
