Quechua Treks took excellent care of us and offered us an experience of a lifetime, hiking to, and exploring, Chocequirao. All of the planning was straightforward and friendly. Salvador, our guide, was easygoing and extremely knowledgeable. His expertise about the surrounding flora, fauna, the trail, and the historical context of the area made for a truly rich experience. We enjoyed his company. So, too, was Salvador's sensitivity and attentiveness to our hiking needs. Luckily, in our case, we adjusted quickly and were stronger and faster than expected. We were allowed to set the pace.
We had the great fortune to have Nidio, assisted by Eladio, as our trip chef. Nidio's food was absolutely delicious, and his attention to detail extraordinary. Because we walked faster than expected we were able to get to the ruins early, before noon. The crew adjusted by preparing lunch in Marampata and then hiking the hour and a half to enjoy it with us at Chocequirao! Having learned it was our anniversary, Nidio made a special cake for us on the last night, decorated with an elaborate sliced mango "rose." The crew in charge of the horses and mules were also exceptionally kind and hard working. The equipment was in tip-top shape, and we slept comfortably. Thanks to all who supported our trip. We loved it! Highly reccomended!
