I just completed the 2 day Inka Trail hike led by Henrry. It was one of the most incredible, memorable experiences. For those of you that don’t have the time for the full 4 day hike, this is the one for you. I got lucky and only had 3 of us total in our group so it was incredibly private and peaceful. The hike was manageable and not super challenging but certainly had me sweating. Henrry was an incredible guide - attentive, personable, thoughtful, communicative and passionate. I not only learned so much from him along the way but he made everything fun and feel important. He cares deeply about his peoples’ history and it truly made a difference in the experience. He’s a great storyteller, which is a necessary trait for a guide but the others I passed by didn’t seem to be as passionate. He truly went out of his way on many occasions to make our experience better. He loves his job and it makes all the difference! Once we got to Machu Picchu it was an incredible sight of course, but very crowded. I was so grateful for our 1-on-1 time with Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the Apus (mountains) during our hike that that was certainly the highlight of the experience. I loved it. Grateful to the team for their work in making it special for me as a solo traveler.
