This was a memorable experience. Apart from the wider context of river, history and beautifully-appointed barge, which already established a brilliant combination, there were the people who gave life to the adventure: the crew and the guides. Their expertise, humour and friendliness, and attention to every possible detail, added depth and vivacity to a trip that already offered rich cultural and aesthetic gifts.

Unfortunately the weather was much too hot! (Not that there was anything you could do about it, but it certainly impacted everyone's experience).
One suggestion: Have some sports drinks onboard the boat to help rehydrate everyone when the weather is so hot. We actively looked for Powerade (or a similar drink) when we had free time, but were never able to locate any. Also, considering the average age of the folks on our tour, whenever there is a riding break in a town, you consistently need to recommend the location of a convenient, clean lavatory.
Overall, the food and tour guides were wonderful.

My trip aboard the IRIS was excellent. It was a fun experience all around. The crew was excellent, captain management did a great job planning, and adjusting the plan when necessary. The cabin was well designed, and the air conditioning was a godsend when it reached 104°F. The experience of having a self-contained trip without having to change hotel rooms, nice, well prepared meals on board, drinks on the deck, and social experience was wonderful. I recommend it.

Everything went well. The IRIS is well appointed and comfortable, the crew friendly and helpful, the meals were enjoyable. All passengers got on well together with an entertaining variety of humour. I would definitely go again.

This is my third trip with Bike Planet. They deliver what they say. Had a fabulous time. Great group of fellow travelers which added to the fun. All staff were exceptional. They felt like family. Trails were terrific and even though temperatures were very warm biking was still so well planned and executed. Congrats to Bike Planet and all that made the trip exceptional. .

Starting on Saturday 30/5/2026 and finishing on Saturday 13/6/2026, I enjoyed a most wonderful time with your company.
The first part of the trip was the Bike/Hotel part from 30/5 - 6/6, and we were lucky to have the delightful Alice as our guide, with Timothy as our excellent van driver. Despite our group having some challenging behaviours, both Alice and Timothy were kind, courteous and forgiving, and our travels were made so much nicer for having them with us. A big thank you to both of them, especially Alice who was with us always.
The second part on the Iris from 7/6 - 14/6 was just perfect. To have the lovely Alice still with us, and to be joined by Felix as our other guide, we were so blessed. Every day was a delight to be with them. The Iris crew of Sabrina (she really is the perfect hostess), Captains Dirk and Adrienne, sailor Kevin and chef Arthur, also added to our enjoyment.
Please pass on my thanks and gratitude to each and every one of them. They made this holiday the best ever!
