A great painting retreat. Great tuition, accommodation, food and company. John and Jena provide a welcoming and supportive environment. John is an excellent tutor, experienced and enthusiastic and just what is needed for this sort of holiday. We did a lot of plein air painting learned a lot and had fun. What more can you ask.

This was my second time visiting The Retreat. Jon has a wealth of knowledge on painting and very helpful and encouraging advice. I like his classical approach to painting that can be applied long after the retreat. We had great food and comfortable accommodation. Jon was flexible in scheduling activities to accommodate various interests. The group was fun and lighthearted. I had great experience.

I learned a great deal from John and the places we went to paint were pretty. Our hotel was great. I would recommend his class. John was very encouraging and coached us to do our best. The restaurants we were taken to were very nice and we had a very good time.
