The Inca Trail was a tough, challenging and truly unforgettable experience. We were a group of 7 friends, and along the way we also had the opportunity to share this adventure with 4 German travelers, with whom we ended up forming a great team. A big part of what made this challenge so enjoyable was our guide, Dario. He not only guided us along the trail, but also introduced us to the local culture and history, making every stage of the journey much more meaningful. He also highlighted the incredible work of the porters, helping us understand and appreciate the enormous effort behind the experience. We would also like to give a special mention to Fredy, our second guide, who was always attentive and, together with Dario, took great care of our safety and comfort throughout the entire journey. Above all, we want to thank the 13 porters who made our expedition possible. We were truly impressed by their effort, kindness and dedication. Without them, completing the Inca Trail would simply not have been possible. We leave with a deep admiration and respect for every single one of them. And of course, we cannot forget our amazing cook, who managed to restore our energy every day with delicious, generous and comforting meals. After each long day on the trail, sitting down to such great food was a reward in itself! We are going home with incredible memories and, above all, a deep appreciation for everyone who made this experience possible. Thank you to the entire team for taking care of us, sharing your knowledge with us, and making our Inca Trail an experience we will never forget.

The trip itself was great, the organization not so much. Multiple times we were left uninformed as to what we were doing or where we were going next. Examples are our transfer from the airport, our arrival at the first lodge where no-one spoke enough English to explain to use what we were going to do, leaving the first lodge very abruptly because our guide did not know we were supposed to go to a second lodge (neither did we), being left at a random hostel during the transfer to the second lodge where the employee did not know us at all, being dropped off at the wrong travel agency after the hostel and I can go on. The actual jungle trip itself was awesome, we did some great activities, saw many animals and had a great time. Only critique is that the guide at the first lodge did not speak English beyond the very basics, so we could not really ask him any meaningful questions we had without explaining extensively what we meant. At the second lodge this way a lot better.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience with us. First of all, we sincerely apologize for not providing you with clearer information about the activities, transfers, and lodge changes during the program. We would also like to take this opportunity to explain a little more about how this expedition works, as this may be helpful for future travelers. The program is designed to explore different areas and ecosystems of the rainforest, which means that guests stay at different lodges throughout the trip. Moving between lodges allows us to access different areas and experience activities and wildlife encounters that would not be possible if we stayed in just one location. On the first day, after traveling by road and then by boat, we arrive at the first lodge around midday. After lunch, the first jungle excursion is scheduled. On the second day, we visit Chuncho Clay Lick. After returning to the lodge and having lunch, we travel back to Puerto Maldonado, where we have a short wait at our office before continuing by boat along the Madre de Dios River to the second lodge. From there, the remaining jungle activities, walks, and wildlife observation take place. We understand that we should have explained this process more clearly before and during the trip. Although changing lodges is an important part of the program, we understand that it can be confusing for guests if they are not properly informed about where they will be staying each night and what activities are planned for the following day. We are very happy to hear that, despite these communication and organizational issues, you enjoyed the jungle experience, the activities, and the wildlife encounters. We also sincerely appreciate your comments about the guide's level of English. We will take this feedback seriously as we continue improving communication and guide assignments for our international guests. Thank you again for sharing both the positive aspects of your experience and the areas where we need to improve. Your feedback helps us provide a clearer, better-organized, and more enjoyable experience for future travelers.
