I was super excited to come on this trip with Robert Grant. I was willing to pay the $13,000 because it was advertised as a luxury trip. It was also advertised as an expedition where we would do more exciting things that other people would not have access to. We arrived the buses took us to a hotel out in the middle of nowhere called the Saint Regis new Cairo. The drivers all got lost in the middle of the desert and had no idea how to get to the hotel. The hotel wants to be arrive was very nice. However, we were the only ones there it was almost desolate. The hotel was an hour and a half away from the pyramids which was too far away. In addition while we were there, Hamas hostages were released into our hotel. Felt extremely unsafe. Later, we flew to Luxor and was given a river boat. Supposed to be luxury however it was not that great in my whole room was full of black, mold and mildew. When I asked Robert’s team to help me with it, they did not help and I became very sick from the mold. This mold affected the entirety of my trip. I wasn’t able to do certain activities. In addition, the trip was chaotic and unorganized. We never went into any place that any other tours could go. Also, because of the chaos many of the faculty presentations were missed. I think the most upsetting part of the trip for me was that Robert Grant was using psychedelics throughout the trip and was under the influence. This was upsetting to me because we were attending sacred places, and I did not think it was appropriate for the leader of our group to be under the influence of psychedelics. It is my opinion that this put our whole group at risk because psychedelics are not legal in Egypt. During my private visit to the pyramids, I only was able to be in the sarcophagus 5 to 6 seconds. And I asked Robert Grant about this in a conversation that we had. I told him that I was upset because he and his colleagues got to spend a lot more time in the sarcophagus, and those who had paid for the trip only had a few seconds. He said that, of course I only got a few minutes because the trip was for him and not for me. He said that the participants on his trip or there to go along with him and that he was not there to host us. I explained to him that in the future that he might want to let people know this arrangement so that they wouldn’t be disappointed. But the positive aspects of the trip where the people that I met they were wonderful people and I will never forgive them and I will have relationships that will last a lifetime. The four seasons hotel that we stayed at in the end was very nice. Overall, I would not recommend going on any trips with Robert Edward Grant because it’s too expensive and he did not take responsibility for things that did not go well.

The trip itself had last-minute changes and some inconveniences that, I believe, could not be foreseen by anyone, especially this being the largest group they have hosted. For me, this added to the experience because I did not have any preconceived notions or ideas of what to expect during the trip. Personally, I had an amazing time! I was blown away by the service, the food, and the grandeur and magic of Egypt! This was the trip of a lifetime!

The first hotel was NOTHING like Mena House which was on the original itinerary and one of the reasons I sent an early deposit. The hotel we stayed in was miles away (one and half hour from Cairo) and did feel like arriving in Egypt. More like Las Vegas! \The second boat was very unhealthy because of mould on walls,. People were getting sick. I consider the cost expensive considering how cheap Egypt is.

Awareness *Intution ALERT Egypt. Land of ancient wonders, iconic pyramids, and a “mysterious” charm that only, Robert Grant's expedition hosted by Saba Tours could offer. I am not going to elaborate on the all the events but most of the reviews that are on the internet about Robert Grant's Egypt trip on Feb 2025 are true. But for me, Egypt's expedition was more like a cruel uncanny facade! Where were the Leader's or anyone, when travelers got extremely sick from mold on the ship , cancelled excursions, cancelled speakers, hotels that were 2 hours away from excursions and entertained guests' that were released from prison, injuries or any decisions that needed to be addressed ? At one of the temples I tripped and fell on my wrist. Thank God for anti inflammatory that I brought from home & for another friend who made a splint for my hand. After a while one of Robert's team & a member from Saba Tours came to check on me. They saw my hand and assured me someone would pick me up in the morning, never heard from anyone for 24 hours. They never called or offered me any type of assistance nor food/water. The next day I was rushed to the DR , conclusion I had a broken wrist. I had to pay for airfare costs and cancelled the remaining trip which nothing was refunded. In social media we have all kinds of people portraying someone they're not but sometimes they are? As of today No one from Saba Tours or Robert's team have called, emailed, text to ask how I was. The answers are always within do not seek without ❤

I traveled with Robert Edward Grant in February 2025 to Egypt. It was, as I described in my factual and honest review, a substandard tour for three main reasons - a premium price was paid for a five star tour and yet we were given a 3 star boat (at best); Robert's lack of preparation or care in providing us with education despite it being on the itinerary, and Robert's professional misconduct. My review was taken down, as I can only imagine, Robert likes to control his public image, and will like to dupe future participants. Hopefully my review appears live again while I dispute this with We Travel.

My 1 star review was deleted along with all other bad reviews so posting this again. Mr. Grant has also been threatening people with lawsuits for respectfully raising concerns with him before ghosting them. He has failed to take any accountability for any adverse experiences by customers who paid a huge amount of money to go on this trip. What’s more, the February 2025 Egypt 144 AXO trip has been erased from this site. This was my review of that trip: This trip was a huge disappointment and an absolute ripoff. We were sold an exclusive luxury expedition to Egypt that failed to deliver, was chaotic, disjointed, and riddled with issues. Arrived at St. Regis New Capital hotel in the middle of desert and 1.5 hrs outside Cairo. Drivers kept getting lost because roads were half built and nobody knew their way around. We were only tourists. Second day there Hamas hostage exchange and celebration took place in hotel lobby. 7 nights on old disgusting ship on the Nile that had horrible smell and guests experienced mold-related respiratory problems. I continue to experience coughs and respiratory issues from that exposure. Mattresses were black with mold. Bathrooms filled with mold. That’s what was visible… Many promised site visits were omitted or rushed, including many Pyramids, Abu Simbel, and the Karnak temple. Highlight of trip was to be night inside Great Pyramid where again we were left without guides or guidance and missed Queen and subterranean chambers. Guides were inconsistent, and many key features of visited sites were skipped. There was no discussion or integration and trip host Grant was more interested in his own personal pursuits. On Grant’s whim schedule would change. We were left to wander around on our own at two key sites because Grant decided we should walk in silence without the benefit of tour guides. Access to tour guides was inconsistent and often we were told to share the videos. We didn’t travel all that way to watch things on a video. Educational content and course materials promised were not delivered and presentations cancelled at last minute. It appeared that most of the problems experienced at various sites had to do with the presence of Grant who displayed little to no cultural sensitivity to our host country and often conducted himself inappropriately. In my opinion, Grant was not at all concerned about participant’s experience, and was only interested in his small young friend group and with being filmed, photographed and posting on social media. The trip was chaotic, poorly organized, and every day there were very last minute schedule changes often communicated very late at night. I will avoid and strongly advise others to avoid any event offered by Robert Edward Grant in future.
