My family and I had a fabulous time in Madikwe at Last Word Lodge . From the minute our feet hit the JNB airport until the moment we left the lodge, we were taken care of and treated like royalty. We would 100% book again with Sam and stay at Last Word. Not a detail left behind. Such wonderful memories we have to take with us and enjoy forever!

Experiencing Madikwe for the first time was such an amazing experience. I had heard about the hide from other previous guests, and I couldn’t wait to experience it myself. Immediately upon arrival – that was one of the first places that I wanted to check out. Sitting in the hide, you never knew what you were going to see. I saw elephants, zebra’s, warthogs, birds, impalas, and so many other animals that wanted to walk through. Everything at the Last Word Madikwe was great, the staff was so kind and helpful, the meals were great and they were easily able to accommodate my food allergies. Our guide Sam Sam was very knowledgeable and made every drive special, even if it was a slower drive. Through my interactions with him, you could see his passion for education and conservation. Sam (RAW Photographic) was fantastic and handled everything from pickup at the airport to transfers to and from the lodge, everything was handled for you, and you could relax and enjoy the journey. I cannot wait to be back on Safari again, continuing to learn from Sam along with the other participants on future trips. It is a special thing being able to connect with others who are passionate about photography.

Sabi Sands has probably been one of my favorite trips so far. The laughs that we had on the vehicle, building friendships with the other participants in the group was special for me. The group that we had connected immediately and even on the slower drives, the energy was high and the laughs were abundant. You should ask Sam about Fredrick; it is quite the story. Umkumbe Lodge was great, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and they were able to accommodate my food allergies, bringing me a separate plate when needed. Our guide Peiter was very friendly, supportive and blended with our group perfectly. As the week went on, he became a part of the group, sharing laughs and his stories from the bush. It was an awesome experience being able to spend time with other people who are passionate about photography. Sam (RAW Photographic) handled all the logistics including transfers to and from the lodge/along with transfers to the airport. With everything handled, I was able to step back and relax, allowing myself to fully take in the process. Thank you Sam for everything and I cannot wait to be on Safari with you again soon.
