Fabulous trip - Matias couldn’t have more helpful in the booking (& organising additional activities). The kayaking was excellent very calm water & top class equipment. Matias was an excellent guide & lodges were also perfect for our requirements - so very easy to get kayaks in and off the water. Food was typical Costa Rican and delicious - can’t recommend highly enough - Thank you so much Matias - we will definitely be booking another of your sea Kayaking trips very soon!

What a great experience! Costa Rica is a beautiful country and paddling the Golfo Dulce and traveling through the Osa Peninsula with Sea Kayak Costa Rica was spectacular!
From start to finish, everything went off without a hitch; which is impressive given the logistics of our large group, the multiple lodges we stayed at and the day trips we took. In the months leading up to this trip, Matias was always very responsive and timely in answering all of our questions.
During the trip, he and Jorge were a wealth of knowledge about the area, history, flora and fauna. And we saw a lot of flora and fauna! The owner of the organic farm was very passionate about his flora and cacao and made us some amazing chocolate treats to indulge in. In the middle of the week, we took a much welcome reprieve from paddling to visit the Corcovado National Park, where we saw sloths (with their babies), monkeys, deer and many more animals!
It was hot (900 F) so we had to be careful not to get heat exhaustion during paddling. But Matias had it planned so we could take restful stops and cool off in the waters of the Golfo! We, also had to be mindful that we were at 70 north of the equator and sun burn can happen very quickly. Many of us paddled with camp towels over our legs and long sleeve shirts to avoid burning.
Overall, Matias and Jorge were super professional and accommodating. I look forward to returning to Costa Rica and have more paddling adventures with Sea Kayak Costa Rica!

Back from our first paddling trip with Sea Kayaking Costa Rica and, wow, can’t stop thinking about it: so many amazing moments, on both water and land. Fabulous sightings of spectacular scarlet macaws, dolphins, three-toed sloths, anteaters, howler and spider monkeys (some with their babies), even a hawksbill sea turtle, which suddenly surfaced near our kayaks.
The protected Golfo Dulce and its mangrove-forested creeks were a great place for kayaking – well off the beaten track, with flat water, minimal tidal currents and always interesting stuff to see. The two rustic eco-lodges we stayed in had everything we needed, and we loved the chance they provided to try homemade local dishes at our meals.
SKCR’s Matias Flores was extremely well organized – no balls dropped at any point, before or during the trip. He provided terrific information pre-trip, was quick to respond to all our questions, and even assisted us with other travel arrangements in Costa Rica. And as our guide once the trip started, his first-rate communication and organization continued. We appreciated how he went over details of each day’s itinerary beforehand, and was very much in tune with his clients on the water – setting a pace that let us enjoy what we were seeing, stopping for stretch-our-knees and chance-to-swim breaks.
We hated to see the trip end!

The sea kayaking trip with Sea Kayaking Costa Rica in the San Blas Islands was a unique experience and a true adventure. We experienced stunning landscapes and varied kayaking. We glided on calm waters through mangroves, crossed the interiors of atolls, and played in the channels with impressive waves. The guides were always calm and we always felt safe. We visited the islands inhabited by the local Kuna people and received a warm welcome. The campsites on palm-fringed sandy beaches were picturesque, and the underwater world was breathtaking. The weather was changeable, and the team's support was outstanding. Mathias took care of every detail and was always attentive to his guests. That things didn't always go exactly according to plan was due to the remoteness and unique nature of Kuna Jala. Our fellow paddlers were wonderful, and we would have loved to have spent a few more days paddling in this special area. Many thanks to Mathias and his team! Katharina and Richard

I've just returned from my FIFTH trip with SKCR! These are "Trips of a Lifetime" and Matias is the IDEAL guide!!! Matias epitomizes customer service and is absolutely delightful company - he's attentive, supportive, engaging, informative, funny, smart, helpful, organized, conscientious and kind.

The Panama Sea Kayaking Adventure is a sea kayaker's dream getaway! White beaches, pristine private islands, turquoise water, palm trees, pelicans, and more! Plus, the trip offers exclusive access not only to the remote and idyllic San Blas islands but also to the Guna Yala indigenous people there, including a small crew that accompany and support the trips. It was incredible to get to spend time with them and learn more about their culture, religion, history and customs.
Costa Rica's Golfo Dulce is pristine, secluded, and breathtakingly beautiful. We kayaked for miles and miles without seeing another person or boat, but did see lots of dolphins and flying fish! My favorite times were these unforgettable hours on the water with the group, the birds and fish we saw, and the amazing conversations.
What an amazing company! SKCR provides personalized attention at every step - from the first call forward. Matias is fastidious about safety - checking weather/water conditions and adjusting the route as needed. His equipment is top-notch and he takes care of it - spending hours after our paddling trips cleaning, checking, and carefully repacking everything for the next day's adventures.
He's sensitive to needed accommodations, physical challenges, and comfort levels. These are not easy trips, but with Matias I felt safe, supported and confident. While these aren't luxurious trips, I’ve never been treated so well—even at fancy all-inclusive resorts!
My trips with SKCR have been my best vacations EVER, thanks to Matias. I can’t wait to return!!!
