About Me

Sonia Roberts is a certified yoga teacher with fifteen years of teaching experience. She has a passion for helping others reach their full potential. Her classes are challenging, nurturing and integrate mindful movement. Sonia is a graduate of the Piedmont Yoga Advanced Studies Program, studying with Richard Rosen, Rodney Yee, Clare Finn and Maritza. She has completed YogaWorks 200 hour teacher training with Mynx Inatsugu and Melanie Salvatore-August. Sonia also completed Jane Austin's Pre-Natal Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Tree in San Francisco. Her training has been influenced by many teachers and traditions, including Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Anusara. Her life as a mother has given her an abundance of opportunity for deepening her yoga practice and living in the moment. After birthing two children and three abdominal surgeries, Sonia has a passion for teaching others how to build core strength and gain confidence to live a life from their core truth. Sonia has a BA in Social Welfare and Dance Minor from UC Berkeley. She is devoted to helping others discover their true self through yoga and meditation. As a lifelong student, Sonia continues to study the many facets of yoga. My intention is to live each day with a heart full of gratitude and hope that each of us may experience love, joy, wisdom and wonder in this life, just as it is.

This was a lovely weekend full of thought-provoking reading and writing, yoga, and warm people. The space felt homey and cozy, and provided large outdoor places to chat, read, and lounge (with a view). Sonia is a wonderful teacher who truly cares about her students and works to create a safe space in which to think and share.

It was an amazing place! Sonja set the stage with her gentle, playful spirit! We all felt safe to be vulnerable and that's where the healing happens. I was blessed to meet such amazing women, and honored to experience the healing journey that took place❤️ Namaste Eileen

I went for the yoga and writing workshop but got so much more. Sonia's style of teaching is delightful. I love her clear instructions for yoga, as well as guided medications & writings. I had never done a yoga retreat with a small group before (only the bigger Wanderlust festivals) and this was so much better. The location was an easy 3-hour drive from the Bay Area making it a great weekend getaway with girlfriends. If you want to try this out w/o the expense of flying to a far off location, I highly recommend Sagrada Wellness Retreat. I am now a big fan of Sonia and can't wait to experience more of her classes at our local Yogaworks in Walnut Creek.
PS
The place, Sagrata Wellness, was so lovely, and so low key, yet comfortable and clean. The food was amazing and healthful. The yoga room was lovely and open. Of course all of that would have been nothing without Sonia's guidance in yoga and self exploration through writing. And Sonia would not have been able to do her thing if it weren't for the lovely participants who were willing to share and just be together. Bonus fabulousness was the pool! OMG! So fab.
