Activity Alternatives

Let us show you the "other side" of Cozumel! No trip to Cozumel is complete without visiting the natural beauty of the undeveloped East Side with it's wilder currents and waves, and local charming beaches. It's also home to one of our favorite roadside markets where they serve Grapefruit Mojitos you will fall in love with as you watch the ocean, swinging in a tableside hammock while sharing stories from the week with your new dive buddies. We arrange a taxi van that will take us here, and optionally, two other spots including an open-air "Rasta Bar" with a gorgeous view, and Coconuts, another bar/restaurant with great views. The cost is $20/per person and the taxi will wait for us and take us home in time to get ready for our final dinner. You can let your SSE host know the day-of if you'd like to participate.

For $20 per person, our transport will pick you up at the house at checkout (10:00am) and take you downtown for shopping and lunch while holding all your bags securely. At the appointed time, they will meet you to take you to the airport. This way you don't have to spend half your final day waiting in the airport or trying to roll bags all over downtown Cozumel.Alternately, SSE will cover your transportation directly to the airport from the house by taxi as part of your package.

Shark Dives (3 DAYS POST-TOUR)

The view will take your breath away. Our comfortable and private accommodations are nestled on a hillside with unparalleled views of the famous Gros and Petit Piton Mountains. Take the view in as you relax with a rum punch in the infinity pool with the majestic Pitons in the background. This iconic view will be your home base for the duration of this exceptional escape to St Lucia!Sleep in the comfort of your own air-conditioned private bedroom suite, most with private walk-out patio or deck and ensuite bathroom. The open-air concept allows the ocean breeze to calm your senses and relax your entire being. Spacious common areas allow you to escape to a private corner of the property or to enjoy building new friendships with your fellow guests. Your Southeast Scuba Escape hosts have handled every detail from the moment you land in St Lucia, so all you need to is pack, get on your plane, relax, and take in the beauty on land and especially under the sea!Enjoy four dives a day (weather permitting) with our guide who grew up on the island and will introduce you to a part of the world you'll never want to leave. We will visit all the "must see" dive sites in St Lucia including:Anse ChastanetThe close proximity to the shore and shallow depths makes Anse Chastanet a shoo-in for shore diving. The reef itself is a mecca for macro. What’s more, it’s also home to St. Lucia’s elusive Loch Ness Monster – a slithery, long, worm-like creature known as “The Thing” and rumored to make an appearance on night dives. FairylandAs the name suggests, Fairyland is a Divemaster favorite. The strong currents keep its abundance of corals and sponges vibrant in color. This also makes it an excellent site for underwater photography. The wall is great for drift diving, while the shallows are prime spots for turtle encounters. Keyhole PinnaclesMuch like an underwater version of the Pitons, this site is famous for the four dramatic seamounts that rise from the depths, almost up to the surface. They offer stunning views of black and orange gorgonian sea fans, colorful corals, sleepy grouper, and color-changing filefish. There’s even a chance to spot seahorses, frogfish, and other macro life here. Wreck of the Lesleen MLocated in Anse Cochon Bay, this 165-foot freighter was purposely sunk in 1986 to make an artificial reef. It resides in waters ranging from 40 to 65 feet (12 to 20 meters), making it accessible to all divers. Easy access to the hold and engine room makes for great photo ops. The wreck also provides shelter to a nursery of French angelfish, moray eels, and plenty of other reef fish.Superman’s FlightThe cliff above this dive site, at the base of Petit Piton, was used in a scene in the film Superman II, giving it its name. However, they could just as well have named it after the moderate current that flows along this sloping wall, making it a favorite for drift divers. Superman fans can tap into their inner hero. The crystal clear currents will take you soaring on a ride past soft corals, massive sponges, schools of grunts, and colorful parrotfish.Finish your Open Water Certification Dives, or get your Advanced Certification, or Specialty Certification at a reduced cost while on this trip!
