Diving was excellent. Dive crew exceptional. Resort claims to spray twice a day for bugs - never saw it and we were eaten alive. Several people got sick - we only mildly sick. But we did notice not the best food handling practices. Next time stay at Mayan Princess. 5 stars for diving. 1 star Turquoise Bay resort.

What a fantastic experience! The diving was amazing, the boat crews were awesome and the staff was great!

We had an incredible vacation. Turquoise Bay staff even surpassed our last stay several years ago. From picking us up at the airport in Roatan, to checking in, and ensuring we were briefed by the various hotel and dive staff on day to day routines. The food was exceptional, and the servers and wait staff were absolutely amazing. I primarily went there to dive and it's probably the best dive resort I've ever been to. The boat captains and dive masters were exceptional. I can't think of a single fault. I was sad to leave, but I will certainly be back next year.

We thoroughly enjoyed this trip, particularly because of the wonderful people who went--but the overall experience at Turquoise Bay was excellent. Pros > The resort experience from the shuttle, to the front desk, accommodations, food & drink, cleanliness and hospitality was top notch. > The dive crew was professional and courteous. > The diving was excellent and tailored to everyone's dive abilities. > The resort was secluded. You felt as though you had the place all to yourselves. > The overall experience felt cost effective as a traveler--we got a lot for the money we spent. Cons > Having to "check in" at the airport as a group was frustrating (couldn't check in prior, no digital boarding pass, couldn't get seated by spouse, etc.). It was distasteful both at the start and then again at the end of an otherwise great travel experience. > The bug problem at Turquoise Bay was insufferable for many. It didn't seem to matter where you were on the resort (except on the boat), you were eaten alive by whatever bugs they have there. They fumigated several times, but it didn't help much.

We had a great time! Room accommodations at the Turquoise Bay property was marginally satisfactory and not at the same level of comfort and amenities we experienced at the Mayan Princess the prior two years. There was only one chair at a table to sit in, otherwise we had to sit on our beds during the day. There was also no fridge or microwave (we did get a small fridge upon request). Dive operations, food and room services were exceptional. Pool is too small to accommodate all the guest. It was filled to capacity every afternoon after our dives by another group. The sand flys on the beach prevented us from fully enjoying the amenities available there. Seat assignments on our inbound and outbound flights were a major disappointment. Nearly every couple in our group were separated on at least one flight segment (although my wife and I were one of the rare exceptions). However, for the third consecutive year of booking this Roatan tour with We Travel, I was assigned window seats over an aisle seat that I had specifically requested at booking. I paid American Airlines an additional fee just to move my wife and I to another row in the general cabin section where we could sit aisle/middle seats together.
