An Unforgettable Kilimanjaro Summit with Summit Expeditions I recently completed the 7-day Kilimanjaro expedition via the Lemosho route with Summit Expeditions, and I can't recommend them highly enough. From the moment planning began, every detail was handled with real care and professionalism — the itinerary was thoughtfully paced, the campsites were set up with precision each day, and the food was consistently excellent throughout the trek. We were a group of 8 hikers, including my son Bilal, and this climb gave us something beyond the summit itself: a genuine bond. We laughed together, endured together, and every single one of us made it to the top. The friendship and encouragement within our group was next to none, and I know it shaped the experience just as much as the mountain did. What truly made this trek exceptional, though, was the team behind it. The porters, chefs, our dedicated "stomach engineer," and guide leads are the real heroes of this mountain. They went so far beyond what was expected to keep us comfortable, safe, and moving forward, even when the climb got tough. Special thanks to Nelson and Stanley, our guide leaders, whose steady leadership and encouragement kept our spirits up at every stage. To Stanley (our food service lead), Godfree, Omari, and Mditi from Moshi — your motivation, hard work, and genuine warmth made all the difference. Without your support, reaching the summit simply wouldn't have been possible. If you're considering Kilimanjaro, do it with Summit Expeditions. They dealt with all the situations with great expertise and joy, and made this trip a life changing experience. It was an amazing experience. Caroliine was very good in her management of the trip. Speaking to other people we met along the way, it was clear how thorough she is. The Papota crew were like family to us by the end of the trip, making it all the more memorable. The only suggestion is that the provided foam mattress is acceptable, the guides advised that our air mattress was not required. If you are over 65kg I would recommend you take your air mattress, or foam pad as extra cushioning, no sense leaving it at the hotel. The resort was exceptional and exceeded any expectations we had. I would highly recommend Summit Expeditions and the Lemosho 7 day trip.

A total bucket list trip. Uganda is a prime example of a country untouched by mass tourism, from the stunning countryside landscapes to the sheer abundance of wildlife. To say we saw a lot is an understatement. The guides were great, flexible to our needs, always smiling and knowledgable of the areas. I must admit I was aprehensive of seeing the gorillas and chimpanzees in the wild but we felt incredible safe in the wild environment of the Ugandan forest jungles. It was a real once in a lifetime experience and would definintely recommend to anyone with an adventurous spirit.
