I had another amazing adventure on The Swan, already booked another! Knowledgeable and patient crew and a fabulous old ship. I learnt something new every day and enjoyed another great trip.

Wonderful trip, great boat, very interesting, fun and caring crew. Weather was not as good as hoped, and crew did best to find a great alternative route. I fully understand that a trip has to be flexible with the weather, and needs to adapt to the weakest member. However, you did ask for feedback, so here is perhaps a personal minority view that I did not come all the way to Shetland in September expecting an easy gentle motor around islands. I wanted to sail though the night in high winds and rough seas and I expected to be uncomfortable and ill. (even perhaps to regret it at times). I'm sure the decision for my specific trip was absolutely the right one, but just think that you need to be just a very little careful that the crew can be sometimes a little too risk averse., (they know what it is like to be ill on a rough boat, why do it again if a pleasant cruse around the islands is the alternative). Obviously when it is a matter of safety, the captain's decision is unquestionable, but when it is more a question over comfort, it could lead some guests disappointed. Thanks again for great trip.

Greatly appreciated the opportunity for a day sail aboard Swan on Sat 13 June A really fantastic sail boat with fascinating history. Super crew who were so patient and helpful to a relatively inexperienced bunch of would be sailors. Joining in with working the sails and a turn at the helm under the guidance of the very chilled and patient skipper was a great privilege. So lovely to view the scenery and wildlife of Scapa Flow from this beautiful boat too. Appreciated the lovely warming lunch too Thank you to Swn Trust for this opportunity from Stromness 🙂

Really interesting , exciting , challenging and memorable

An amazing opportunity to sail on a 125 year old Shetland fishing boat! What a great way to see the Shetland coast and islands, plus get a very different view of seabirds such as Puffins, Gannets and Fulmars. Sail experience isn’t required although a certain degree of physical strength and agility is needed if you want to contribute to helping crew the boat. The regular crew (Eli, Scott and Shona) were brilliant and made the weekend a memorable experience.
