After landing in Lusaka and meeting with your safari team, &nbsp;you will travel to Forest Inn on the Great North Road where the real adventure begins. &nbsp;Set in 160ha of protected Miombo forest, Forest Inn is a rich oasis for birdlife. Lush lawns and tranquil gardens provide habitat for productive birding, forest walks or a relaxed sundowner.

Day 1

Our mobile camp is set up in a quiet corner of Kasanka National Park, home to the world’s largest mammal migration! &nbsp;Enjoy access to the hides for the bats, the best spots to photograph the sitatunga and take day trips out into the Luwombwa region for excellent birding opportunities, specials include: Pels Fishing Owl, Bohm’s Bee-Eater, Ross’s Turaco – twitchers or non-twitchers, Kasanka is a birders paradise.
Your gudie shall take you to various beauty spots around Kasanka. It is well worth arising early to chance sightings of the sitatunga returning to the swamps. If you come later in the year, you may be in time for the bat migration, one of the finest wildlife spectacles in the world

Days 2 - 4

Our mobile camp is perfectly positioned in the Bangweulu Wetlands in an island thicket of indigenous trees. The camp is always alive with bird movement and the sound of thousands of lechwe sloshing in the waters around camp at night will stay with you long after you leave. Sunrise over the Bangweulu Wetlands can be viewed on the eastern side of camp and guarantees the most stunning start to the African day.&nbsp;
You shall have a day on the water here, searching for the famous Shoebill. You will also embark on a couple of game drives around the forest edge and the open plain&nbsp;

Bangwuelu Wetlands / Nsobe Campsite

Days 4 - 6

An owner managed, hidden gem on the plateau 30 km west of the Luangwa Valley in northern Zambia.
Mutinondo Wilderness is a paradise unique to Zambia! Free of big game, guests are able to celebrate pristine miombo woodland, streams, waterfalls and inselbergs, over 60 km of well-maintained and signed tracks, and views from horizon to horizon without evidence of human activity.

Days 6 - 8 

After an adventure Mutinodo, we travel northwards to Kapishya Hot Springs for 2 nights of sheer relaxation. &nbsp;Kapishya is a quiet secluded Lodge just off the Great North Road, along the banks of the Mansha River. &nbsp;The Hot Springs are an idyllic spot to spend your time relaxing in the natural, sulphur free water. As your feet sink into the soft white sand, you can forget about the stresses of the outside world and reflect on the spectacular memories made up to this point.
On the full day here, you shall also have the chance, if it is of interest to visit the famous Shiwa Ngandu House. We will take you on a short game drive around the lake after the house visit

Kapishya Hotsprings Campsite

Days 8 - 11

We shall depart the Shiwa Ngandu estate fairly early and begin our journey south to Forest Inn. It is a long drive all the way to Lusaka so we use Forest Inn to break up the journey. You will be accommodated here in the rooms&nbsp;

&nbsp;&nbsp;Your 17 night/18 day Kafue will start at Lusaka International Airport where, on arrival, you will be met by a member of our safari team. Once you have collected your luggage, you will hop on board the safari cruiser which will begin the journey west towards Zambia’s largest and most remote national park.&nbsp;
 
The Kafue National Park The park boasts nearly 500 species of bird, the widest antelope range of any park in Zambia and some of our neighboring countries, good cat populations and plenty of big game. The flora is very diverse, you will be rummaging through many different biomes on your adventure, whilst enjoying the comfort of the parks finest establishments.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Your first stop is our exclusive campsite on the Kafue River. This stretch of the Kafue River is a pristine oasis bustling, with a myriad of wildlife and birdlife. The nature of the river and surrounding habitat in this remote northern section of the park lends itself to both &nbsp;water and land-based boating activities on offer.
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The camp is located on the banks of the Kafue River. Enjoy your early morning coffee as the mist lifts off the water. This north western section of the park sees a minimal amount of visitors and safari operators. This means you will have most sightings to yourself!

Kafue River Lodge 

Days 1 - 4

On day 4 of your Safari you will venture north into the remote Lunga Wilderness. This area is a relatively unexplored corner of the Kafue, with no other operators and very little visitors passing through. Tucked away in the riverine vegetation on the banks of the Lunga River, this wilderness is waiting to be explored. Ideal for the keen birder, water lover, fishermen and lovers of time and space.
 
Kikuji Camp is a comfortable and intimate bush camp with the focus being on appreciating the secluded wilderness around you. The 4 safari suites are built with canvas walls, gauze windows and thatched roofs on wooden decks. All rooms have ensuite ablution with a flush toilet, shower and a basin sink.

Kikuji Camp, Lunga River

On day 6 of your Kafue adventure, you will drive northwards towards the famous Busanga Plains. The transfer will take approximately 4 hours. The drive is very picturesque as you wind your way through the Miombo woodland forests!&nbsp;
 
&nbsp;The Busanga Plains is undoubtedly the best place for wildlife viewing in Kafue National Park and Kasonso Camp is located right in the heart of the prime game viewing area. The Busanga Plains area is perfectly situated to see large numbers of red lechwe, but is also well known for the big prides of &nbsp;lions, buffalo, elephant, wildebeest and relaxed roan antelope. Birding is also superb. You shall be guided here by the local legends, Idos Mulenga and Ferrison Kalembelembe.

Kasonso Camp, Busanga Plains

Days 6 - 9

You will depart early from the Busanga Plains and start the journey South to the central Kafue. We will set up camp in the Namwala Game Management Area (GMA) on a spectacular and remote stretch of the Kafue River. The Kafue National Park, just opposite the lodge and only a 10 minute boat trip away, offers magnificent game that you can enjoy viewing from our comfortable open game drive vehicles.
&nbsp;The Kafue River, with all its myriad of channels, rapids and islands lends itself to a range of exciting river based activities which include boat cruises, fishing, birding, canoeing and river trails. From the top of one of the large granite boulders in the Namwala GMA called Mpamba Rock, you will get a 360° view over nothing but nature!
The Kaingu campsite is beautifully situated and well maintained. The lodge itself is also beautifully built and well run, offering &nbsp;a wide range of activities as well.

Days 9 - 11

On day 13 of your Kafue expedition you will depart the banks of the Kafue River for the lush green lake shore of Lake Itezhi Tezhi. The Lake is Zambia’s second largest body of water after Lake Tanganyika; it’s mostly surrounded by the National Park making it an important water source for wildlife and birdlife. As the Lake shore recedes in the drier months, the fresh green grass becomes a magnet for grazing herbivores like Puku, Buffalo, Impala and Zebra.&nbsp;
 
Our Camp at Hippo Bay is set up very close to the Lake Shore. The Camp, is well situated, offering beautiful views of the vast lake. It is a great place to sit with your binoculars and spot mammals and birds. Typically, in this region we focus on game drives around the lake and also in the teak forests nearby. There is great diversity in this region regarding their woodland types, which also supports a great range of species.&nbsp;

Hippo Bay Campsite, Lake Itezhitezhi 

Days 11 - 13

As you leave Lake Itezhi Tezhi and drive south you will notice how the landscape opens up from Mopane thicket into the wide open spaces of the Nanzhila Plains. Enjoy a game drive into camp, and settle into the beautiful rooms with views over the dambo to enjoy a two night stay. Nanzhila is the closest true safari destination in Zambia to the Victoria Falls and enjoys nearly 3000sqkm to itself. An incredible variety of wildlife and birding species as well as a magnificent location, overlooking the dambo make Nanzhila one of the most memorable safari camps in Zambia.
 
The Nanzhila chalets or safari tents all have beautiful views over the dambo and the gauzed windows allow all the wonderful sounds of the African night to reach you clearly! Game drives and safari walks around Nanzhila are bound to reveal a wide variety of wildlife and bird species including 4 out the Big 5!&nbsp;

Nanzhilla Plains 

Days 13 - 15

The final leg of your journey will take you to Livingstone, built around one of the seven wonders of the world, Victoria Falls. &nbsp;We will set up camp at Maramba River Lodge, ideally located just 4km from the Victoria Falls. It provides a most attractive all-year-round accommodation base in a shaded woodland setting overlooking the Maramba River. &nbsp;Maramba offers a wide variety of activities in and around the Victoria Falls which include river rafting adventures, falls visits and gorge swings and bungee jumping over the falls! There are also markets, museums and plenty of places to eat in town.

Complete Kafue Safari

The Zambian Mobile Circuit combines the wildlife-rich forests and plains of Northern Zambia with the iconic Luangwa Valley! This safari offers some of the best birding destinations in Zambia with a chance for birders to tick off the prehistoric Shoebill whilst visiting the Bangweulu Wetlands. The Luangwa Valley, on the other hand, &nbsp;is a sanctuary for wildlife, centered around the lifeblood of the Luangwa River, with the &nbsp;South Luangwa home to the highest density of carnivores in Zambia and the North Luangwa possibly, the only place where one can see the elusive Black Rhino in Zambia.&nbsp;

Day 2 will be an early start, leaving Forest Inn &nbsp;and travelling to the Bangweula Wetlands. The tented camp is &nbsp;positioned in the wetlands in an island thicket of indigenous trees. Nkondo Tented Camp 

Days 2 - 5

After 3 days exploring the &nbsp;wetlands &nbsp;you will leave and travel to the tranquil Mutinondo Wilderness area for 2 days. &nbsp;&nbsp;An &nbsp;owner managed, hidden gem on the plateau 30 km west of the Luangwa Valley in northern Zambia, &nbsp;Mutinondo Wilderness is a paradise unique to Zambia! After time spent in the Wilderness, we travel northwards to Kapishya Hot Springs for 2 nights of sheer relaxation. &nbsp;Kapishya is a quiet secluded lodge just off the Great North Road, along the banks of the Mansha River. &nbsp;The Hot Springs are an idyllic spot to spend your time relaxing in the natural, sulphur free water. As your feet sink into the soft white sand, you can forget about the stresses of the outside world and reflect on the spectacular memories made up to this point.

Kapishya Hotsrings

Days 7 - 8

After breakfast and a final swim in the hot springs we will depart Kapishya for North Luangwa National Park. This area of the Luangwa Valley is a remote, off-the-beaten track version of the South Luangwa. You will spend the next 3 nights at North Luangwa camp, it’s &nbsp;situated &nbsp;on the banks of the Luangwa River, with good access also to the game rich Mwaleshi River. &nbsp;The beauty of visiting this park lies in the truly remarkable opportunity to experience Africa as it was when the first safari pioneers walked Africa! &nbsp;It is wild, untouched and completely off-the-grid. The park is noted for its massive herds of buffalo and large prides of lion that inhabit the territory. Other common mammals are lion, hyaena, Cookson’s wildebeest, bushbuck, zebra, warthog, baboon, vervet monkey, puku and impala.&nbsp;

North Luangwa Camp 

After breakfast and a morning activity we will depart North Luangwa for the iconic South Luangwa National Park. &nbsp;On arrival at Flatdogs Camp &nbsp;there will be time to freshen up &nbsp;and, time permitting, there will be the option to head out on an afternoon game drive finished off with sundowner drinks on the river. &nbsp;Flatdogs Camp is situated on the banks of the Luangwa River, on the border of &nbsp;the South Luangwa National Park which is &nbsp;one of the last great wildlife wonders of the world. It is nine thousand square kilometers (3,475 square miles) of pristine wilderness. The South Luangwa NP has been visited by wildlife enthusiasts from all over the world since its creation in 1972.&nbsp;

Days 11 - 14 

After an early breakfast, we shall begin our drive back to Lusaka. It shall take around 9.5 hours to reach the city. We will drop you at your chosen destination for this last night&nbsp;
