We had an amazing experience with the private surf lessons! The teachers were incredibly friendly, patient, and encouraging. Communication was excellent from the beginning, and they went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and wishes. We had a fantastic time. Highly recommended!

100/10! Pura Vida! If you really wanna learn surfing - Tortuga Surfcamp is the place to go. It‘s not just practical learning, you will get a lot of important theory too. On day one I managed to catch my first green wave (had some lessons before already), but watched also complete beginners getting teached and they did very well! They also provide a good teaching of your mindset in the water. There are also gym-lessons 3 times a week. Mike was the best teacher for me - he pushed me to my limits and helped me a lot of getting my fears under control. Also Laudi - which I had one lesson with - is a very good coach. The Photo- and Video Videoanalyses helped a lot to improve too and you get amazing footage of yourself surfing and wiping out ;-) From the rooftop-bar you can watch amazing sunsets and you can also expierence the nearby jungles and waterfalls. If you are brave enough you can join a badass-junglerun. Believe me - the view you will get at the too its worth it 🤩 Mike was always reachable via WhatsApp and very helpful with all questions I had. Transport from and to the airport went smooth. Mike welcomed me at the camp, showed me around the camp and also around the town to get an overview. Also thanks to the team of Ozeano - the Surfcamp is located there. Amazing drinks, good vibes, nice staff and amazing sunsets! Can 100 % recommend!!!

Excellent experience with Mike at Tortuga Surf Camp. I was fortunate to take two lessons — one day surfing and one day paddleboarding. Mike is an exceptional teacher who is deeply in tune with the ocean. Swells were bigger than anything I'd experienced before (5–6'), yet I felt completely safe and comfortable with him as my guide. He met me where I was and taught me new techniques to catch more waves. On the paddleboard side, he quickly corrected my form and took me on a 3-mile paddle around the bay. Prior to this lesson, my poor technique made it impossible to paddle more than 15 minutes without discomfort — but we went a full hour, and I could have stayed out much longer watching rays and fish glide beneath us.

My wife and I stayed at Tortuga Surf Camp for a few days and had a great experience. Mike made everything easy from the start. He set up our shuttle, and when our arrival time changed we just texted him and he adjusted it without any hassle. Our ride was there waiting for us, which was huge after a long travel day. The surf camp is on the same property as the hotel, so check in was simple and getting to lessons each day was convenient. The location is great too. We didn’t need a car. There are plenty of restaurants and small stores within walking distance, and the hotel has a restaurant so it was easy to grab food or water between sessions. The schedule is flexible depending on tides and conditions, but Mike works with you and keeps things straightforward. He also tailors the lessons to your level, which helped a lot. The drone footage and video review stood out and was surprisingly helpful. Being able to see our waves and get feedback made a big difference and helped things click faster. I also appreciated that this isn’t a “stand up once and you’re done” kind of surf camp. It’s for people who want to get better. He teaches you how to surf safely, understand the ocean, and mixes in some breath work and conditioning. We can’t say enough good things about Mike and Lodi Dodi. Best way I can describe Lodi is he likes to party, doesn’t cause trouble, and doesn’t bother nobody. Both of them are personable and easy to be around, and they pushed us in a good way and helped us improve a lot. Overall it was a fun experience and we felt like we improved. Would definitely recommend.
