I took part in the ASC2 and Glacier Travel & Crevasse Rescue courses with Wanaka Mountain Guides, and both were fantastic experiences. From the start, the communication was clear, friendly, and approachable, which made everything easy to organise and gave me confidence before the courses began. Both courses had an excellent progression and were highly practical. They exceeded my expectations and gave me skills that I feel confident applying out there. We had the same instructor for both courses, Petrouchka, and she was outstanding. She explained concepts in different ways to make sure everyone understood, adapted her teaching to each person’s goals and experience, and encouraged us to think beyond the course by developing good decision-making and forward-thinking habits. A big thank you to Wanaka Mountain Guides and Petrouchka for a valuable learning experience. I would happily recommend these courses to anyone looking to build their mountain skills.

My experience with Wanaka Mountain Guides was unbelievably positive. From the moment I met my guide, all the way to the intense cold and wind on the remarks, their positivity and understanding was unwavering. There was not a moment where I felt my fitness or experience was letting down the trip, nor did I ever feel like I was an annoyance to my guide. With such a great environment I learned more than I could Imagine and had an absolutely amazing experience. My wife and I had a great time with Jordan. He was very easy going and understood what we wanted out of the guiding experience. He made everything feel comfortable and allowed us to push our limits whenever we wanted. He understood our personal climbing experience and tailored the experience to our level and desires.
