We had an awesome day out. Lots of skiing and touring with great supportive and fun energy. Have gained lots of confidence and insight into the terrain accessible to me. Totally stoked!

Amazing Ski Touring Day ✨ What an incredible day in the mountains! My Introduction to Ski Touring trip with WMG in the Cardrona backcountry was honestly one of my best ski touring days ever. I really appreciated how thoughtfully the trip was rescheduled due to the weather — it was definitely worth it! Our guide Shea was fantastic: incredibly knowledgeable, attentive and great at answering all my questions. Being in a small group meant the day could be tailored to all our interests, goals and previous experience. Having done the ASC1 course earlier in the season, I loved being able to put what I’d learned into practice. Shea showed us how to move more confidently and efficiently in the mountains, while keeping the day super fun and relaxed. I couldn’t recommend Wanaka Mountain Guides highly enough and will definitely be back for more trips!

Course was great and the instructors were very friendly and helpful. Answered all the questions we had. Learnt great skills for how to use the receiver and do a rescue. Would recommend for beginners wanting to learn skills to stay safe in Avalanche Terrain

This course was awesome I loved it the instructor did his best to balance avalanche knowledge with fun seeking despite the bad weather. Will be back!

After 5 wks of ski training, this is the first time I did not use the chair lift and yet spend the most time on snow. Learnt a lot. Much more appreciation to the dangers, signs than before. Stay alive is more important than everything else. (except a nicely groomed run and 4 inches of powder) lol
