Track and Route of Nepal Marathon

The itinerary is very scenic, although is not very technical. It is recommended to use trail or mixed footwear. The use of poles is allowed but not mandatory.

The itinerary in the Half marathon runs flatter and less technical  than the 42k.

Equipment of Nepal Marathon

The organization has looked for the best dates (October) to avoid the heat, cold and the monsoon effect, so dry weather is assumed and without major alterations but this is not under control, even so, the environmental conditions are different from the start at 4000m altitude to the finish area in Pisang at 3200m altitude so the temperature may vary. Likewise, the weather can be changeable in the mountains.

A temperature is foreseen that could vary from 5ºC at the start to 20ºC at the time of the year of the celebration, so the organization will have a point where the participant could unload clothes such as gloves, hat, jacket if it were of a nuisance.

Reviews

As we have probably read, Inca Marathon is one of the toughest, if not the hardest marathon out there. For me, it was the combined trekking in the altitude and the technical descent was the grueling part, but yes, the last half, I was able to run/walk with sore quads and hamstrings. Despite all that, we were rewarded with awesome, just majestic views of the mountains and valleys and streams. You can’t beat that. And many thanks to the organizer of the group, Apolo, the team leader, Abelardo and the staff, the horses and mules, of Wild Marathon that made these all happen. They did a fantastic job, organizing every detail. The hotels, the restaurants, the food that was prepared along the way, the courteous staff and of course, the cultural aspect, made this trip a memorable experience. I have actually signed up another trip with them, on their Kilimassai marathon in Africa July 2025. This is how much I trust them.
