About your trip

Passport Required presents:
An Artist Residency in the World

This is an invitation for the ones who keep saying one day.

For the artists carrying something unfinished.
For the writers with a half-built world living in their Notes app.
For the filmmakers, chefs, photographers, designers, musicians, and thinkers who know there’s a project asking for them, but life, fear, noise, or obligation keeps interrupting the conversation.

This is not a retreat to “find yourself.”
This is not a vacation disguised as productivity.

This is a trip into the unknown with intention.

Passport Required is hosting a small, intentional residency in the world for artists who want space, time, and community to work on something that matters to them. Something close. Something honest. Something that doesn’t survive well in isolation.

You’ll travel with other creatives who are also saying yes to the work they’ve been circling. You’ll be given room to focus, permission to go quiet, and the support of people who understand that creating isn’t always joyful, but it is necessary.

What this is

  • Time carved out specifically for your project

  • A community of artists who show up, listen deeply, and don’t need you to explain why this matters

  • Gentle structure without suffocation

  • Space for collaboration and solitude

  • Conversations that stretch late into the night

  • A reminder that you don’t have to do this alone

What this isn’t

  • A content factory

  • A hustle incubator

  • A place to perform productivity

  • A trip where you’re expected to be “on” all the time

You can come with something in progress or something barely formed.
You can come with questions instead of answers.
You can come burned out, restless, or quietly ready.

This residency is for artists who feel the pull and are willing to follow it. Even if they don’t yet know where it leads.

We're going to Destination:Unknown.

Because distance changes perspective.
Because new surroundings loosen old habits.
Because sometimes you need to leave home to remember what you’re capable of.

If you’ve been waiting for permission, this is it.
If you’ve been craving community that doesn’t dilute your voice, this is for you.
If you know there’s something inside you asking for time, attention, and courage—this is the moment.

Pack your passport.
Bring your project.
Come work beside us.

Departure City

New York City — our official departure city.

Prefer to fly from somewhere else? No problem!

All other departure airports are available for an additional fee. Just be sure to select “OTHER DEPARTURE” as an add-on when booking your trip.

The People We Don't Want

Let’s be real — This Trip isn’t for everyone. This experience is for the open-hearted, the flexible, and the curious. Not for those who need everything to go exactly as planned. If you’re hoping for a luxury trip, need a strict itinerary, or can’t roll with the punches when travel throws a curveball (because it will), this probably isn’t your vibe. We’re not the trip for folks who let a little rain ruin their day, expect America elsewhere, or find something negative in every new experience. If control issues keep you from having fun, if you judge others before getting to know them, or if you’re not willing to leave your ego and your expectations at home, then this journey won’t be for you. We travel with curiosity, respect, and joy, and we ask that you read how these trips work before signing up, so everyone who joins us is truly ready for the adventure.
