Purna Retreat is located in the mountains in the lake town of Pokhara, a short one hour flight from Katmandu. Enjoy the serenity and tranquillity of being tucked away in the hillsides overlooking a stunning lake and mountainous views. This retreat center is newly renovated with twenty eight comfortable rooms, two stellar shalas, organic vegetarian food, a swimming pool, cold plunge, and steam room. They offer massages, sound healing, peaceful meditation spots, and nearby hiking trails.

This Yoga Alliance 200 Hour Teacher Training is hosted by The School of Yoga which is a continuing education teacher training school for inspiring yogis who want to deepen their understanding of the yoga practice and take their teaching to the next level.
The two hundred hour training is a foundational training focused on alignment, sequencing, anatomy (physical & subtle), and philosophy. You don't have to want to teach yoga to enroll in this training, only have desire to go deeper in your yoga practice!

You will leave the training with a deeper understand of the practice of yoga and understand how to create a yoga practice to meet your individual needs. . The School of Yoga offers a 300 Hour Teacher Training program which is the next step that will guide you towards teaching yoga.
This teacher training is a Yoga Alliance RYT training. If you have already completed a 200 HR YTT, please message Joanhymanyoga@gmail.com and let her know which training you have completed and to be eligible for a two hundred dollar discount.
You will receive a 15 hour pre-recorded prep course to work at your own convenience before the training begins and will also receive ten free classes on both Joan and Chrissy's platform to help prepare for the training.
Once the training is complete, you will have access to The School of Yoga's Sequencing to Transform 25 Hour Module, to help you advance in your studies.

There will be plenty of time to enjoy the serene lakeside town of Pokhara, which is a short ten minute taxi ride from the retreat center. Filled with shops, vegan restaurants, and a beautiful lake to hang out by and soak in the peaceful vibe of the Nepalese people. We will also have a full day off to visit the lake and hike up to The Stupa. For those that want to explore the mountains, Joan can connect you to guides to help you set up an adventure to Poon Hill. We do recommend flying into Katmandu before and after the training and exploring the city before catching your international flight home.

Joan Hyman is the director and founder of The Schoolof. yoga™, an authentic international teacher training program focused on continuing education. Her grounded teaching style seamlessly supports her students as they emerge from their practice with the rich and bright energy that yoga has to offer. Joan’s teachings come from an organic and intuitive place, as she draws upon the combined studies of the Ashtanga and Iyengar methods, as well as Ayurveda and meditation. Chrissy Gonzalez is a Los Angeles based yoga teacher, vegan foodie, writer, travel junkie and animal lover. The onset of her love affair with yoga over twenty years ago set in motion an active practice that has allowed her to guide others for over a decade. Chrissy provides a grounded and safe space for students to develop their practice through clear cuing and accessible modifications while also encouraging them to challenge themselves. Chrissy doesn't just love yoga, she lives yoga, and deeply cares about each and every one of her students. Chrissy's formal training began in 2002 with Yoga Works in Los Angeles. She has since completed over 1000 hours of Yoga Alliance Certified training under the guidance of her teachers Joan Hyman, Jeanne Heileman and others. She stays busy teaching alignment based classes and workshops flowing with harmonious movement, yoga philosophy and a positive outlook. She also leads yoga retreats all over the world.
