Oktoberfest Beer Lover's 2024: Experience Bavaria’s beautiful Franconian region and the baroque city of Bamberg. Once in Bamberg, you’ll sleep inside a working brewery for three nights. In Bamberg we enjoy a walking tour of the city and several of the 9 local breweries, including a meal at Schlenkerla, known for its “Rauchbier.” We also do a day trip to the famous, medieval, walled town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, where we enjoy a meal and wine tasting at Hotel Glocke. They have the best Franconian food and the owner is a winemaker. We’ll taste his wines and enjoy a walk through the old town. Here, you’ll have some time for shopping at Käthe Wohlfahrt and see her famous Christmas Museum if you like.  On our way back to Munich, we’ll take a boat ride through the Danube Gorge on the way to Kloster Weltenburg and then have a tour of the Kuchlbauer brewery with its crazy Hundertwasser-designed tower.  In Munich, you’ll have a city tour and two reservations in the Augustiner Festzelt – one on Sunday evening and a daytime reservation the next day. Lodging at Hotel Alter Wirt in Grünwald – Munich’s first organic hotel!
