Join Alt Esc on the Royal Clipper for an authentic sailing experience, on a beautiful vessel that is small, intimate and safe with less than 225 guests. Royal Clipper embraces the romance of sailing the open ocean, using wind charts to visit unique and remote ports and harbors that only yachts can access. At the same time, we’ve made sure our authentic sailing vessel offers guests all the comfort and amenities you would expect from a luxury small-ship. Doesn't that sound delightful? But there’s more… oh, the places you will see!
Idyllic islands, quaint villages and ancient ruins create a romantic backdrop for your Caribbean Ocean adventure. Wander cobblestone streets, sample fresh food and wine and bask in the vibrant cultural scene. Feel the thrill of sails unfurling above as you set off into the sunset. Glide into ports untouched by larger cruise ships and experience activities, amenities and ambiance of your own private yacht on board Star Clippers Royal Clipper.
Not Your Ordinary Cruise
With Star Clippers you are embarking on an authentic and magical sailing voyage. You will never get the sensation that there’s not enough time, and there are no tight timelines to stress you out. You are free to determine how to spend your time onboard—full of daily activities or just peaceful relaxation. Take advantage of the complimentary water sports and enjoy the warm seas. Watch the bartender mix delightful cocktails in the Tropical Bar and chat with newfound friends about your day. Up on deck, do not miss the incredible sail-away, where the Captain artfully instructs the crew to raise the massive, majestic sails while Vangelis plays in the background.
Soft Entertainment
In various destinations that we visit, we invite local performers onboard to entertain our guests with an authentic taste of their music and arts. In addition, we have a piano on every ship and a very talented entertainer who can play your favorite tunes or spin the latest musical hits. Or just enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow shipmates, take part in a guest & crew talent show or dress up to join in the fun on pirate night.
Nautical Events & Activities
Muster up your sense of adventure and climb the mast to the “Crow’s Nest” (almost 100 feet in the air) for spectacular panoramic views. Or relax in the bowsprit at the front of the ship, suspended over the ocean, with waves glittering directly below you.
Join a team of guests and use your strength to assist in pulling up a sail. Knot tying and navigation classes that have evolved from Star Clippers’ sailing tradition, are also yours for the taking. These fun and different activities plus the laid-back casual ambience of the Royal Clipper create the not-to-be-missed overall sailing experience what makes our guests come back again and again.

The Largest Full-Rigged Sailing Ship in the World
In 1902, the largest, fastest sailing ship the world had ever seen was launched. The legendary Preussen dominated the seas, only to be gone in a few short years. Neither before nor since had the world seen such a magnificent sailing ship. Until today…
Inspired by the tall ship Preussen, the Royal Clipper has the proud distinction of being the largest and only five-masted full-rigged sailing ship built since her predecessor was launched at the beginning of the last century. With her complement of 42 sails, Royal Clipper is a splendid sight to behold.
You might think she was an apparition from the grand age of sail, but Royal Clipper is as new as tomorrow, boasting state-of-the-art navigation systems and every comfort and luxury one could wish for. For connoisseurs of sail cruising, the 439 foot Royal Clipper offers the ultimate sea-going experience, balancing the grandeur, adventure and tradition of sailing with the superb service, amenities and accommodations of the finest modern yacht. Royal Clipper carries just 227 guests in luxurious style. A full 19,000 square feet of open deck and three swimming pools create a wonderfully spacious and expansive outdoor environment.
Find your secret hideaway on one of the hidden balconies on either side of the bow. Or climb the mast (with safety harness provided) to one of the passenger lookout crows-nests, thoughtfully furnished with a comfortable settee, where you’ll have the grandest view of all!
Royal Clipper’s interior spaces are just as dazzling. They include a three-deck atrium that funnels sunlight into the elegantly appointed, three-level dining room featuring open-seating dining, deliciously prepared cuisine and a no-tie dress code.
A convenient marina platform lowers from the stern for watersports. And the ultimate unique Royal Clipper experience, the one-of-a-kind Captain Nemo Lounge, is the site of our spa and health club with underwater glass portholes!

On the wild and rugged east coast of Barbados, the isolated beaches are the colour of sunrise, the red sands having blown all the way across the Atlantic from the Sahara. The easternmost island of the Windwards, and indeed, of the entire Caribbean, reaches out to Africa and the Old World, as if not quite part of the New. Bridgetown, Barbados, is an interesting town full of contrasts. George Washington actually slept here! Trafalgar Square reminds you that the laidback, rum- and fun-loving island's British influenced heritage includes revered traditions like cricket and high tea.
Use this day to explore the island: Tourist Information

Thirty islands and specks of sand make up the gloriously untouched Grenadines. We'll call on one of these Islands, for a blissful, laid-back beach day. We're sure, you'll never be disappointed.
The aromas of nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla baking in the sun - these are the tropical flavours of Grenada. From the horseshoe shaped Carenage at St. George's, follow the Sendall Tunnel (hand-built in 1895) to the Esplanade and old Ft. George for a spectacular view of Grenada.
Four small islets, virtually deserted but enormously appealing for those who love underwater exploration, Tobago Cays is a national park where snorkelling is superb.
