About your trip

Meet your favourite Corrie Stars on the set, chat with them, take loads of pictures, and perhaps watch some actual filming during their DIAMOND 60th Anniversary year. Immerse yourself in the Beatles history in Liverpool, cruise on the River Dee in Chester, bargain at the famous Kirkgate Market in Leeds, walk the famous walls of York, explore the world famous York Minster cathedral, and shop in The Shambles. After our tour of Northern England and all the excitement of our PRIVATE visit to the studios , then fly off to romantic Venice, Italy ,and embark on a 7 night cruise, sailing the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas to the legendary Greek Islands of Santorini and Mykonos and breathtaking cities of Split and Dubrovnik, Croatia . Finally visiting Ancona , Italy before returning to Venice. Fully escorted by our amazing Tour Host, Neville MacKay, who through his wonderful sense of humour and sincere caring and kind nature has endeared himself to hundreds of our past guests. For those who have gotten to know Marilyn who has been our UK Tour Manager on many of our trips, due to the short length of our time in England, she won't be with us on this particular trip, but we are hoping her schedule will permit her to be with us on our last day in England, and back with us on future in depth tours throughout the UK.

With a shortened trip to England, this is a great opportunity for many folks to get to walk the cobbles , rub shoulders with your favourite cast members, see a bit of England without having to take two weeks of your vacation time for one of our longer and more expensive tours.

If you are short on time, or just want to experience the magic of being on the sets of Coronation Street, you won't want to miss this trip !  PLEASE NOTE : When you get to the payment page, if when you submit, it comes back with an error message "failed" , it just means that your credit card company recognizes the amount is not your normal spending habits, and has put a temporary hold on the amount. You just need to call the number on the back of your card and advise it is actually you and the amount is authorized. It seems to happen more frequently with Mastercard, but is very common with credit card companies today as they ramp up security measures to protect their credit card holders. Once you do that, they release the hold and you can process your payment. While it can be an inconvenience, these measures are in place these days to protect you.

Our charming and fun Tour Host Neville MacKay will fly with the group from Manchester to Venice, Italy, on September 4th for overnight in Venice, before boarding our beautiful cruise ship for a fun filled 7 night cruise that visits Split and Dubrovnik, Croatia, Mykonos and Santorini, Greece, and finally Ancona, Italy before arriving back in Venice.

At just under 70,000 Tons, our ship boasts 13 decks ( most named for famous composers) 8 bars and discos, two swimming pools, casino, spa, 4 diningrooms, a power walking track, fitness centre, spa and massage salons, a steam bath, a two story theatre with first class entertainment. There will be no lack of things to do while on board, but the majestic sights of the places we will visit will surely be the highlight. The idyllic Greek Islands of Santorini and Mykonos with their beautiful white and blue buildings against the sparkling Mediterranean Sea will forever be etched in your memory. Exceptional food to sample, lively music and dancing, all against one of the most beautiful backdrops in the world.

Croatia is one of the safest and most beautiful countries to visit in the Mediterranean. The crime rate in Croatia is extremely low, and it is very quickly becoming one of the top tourist destinations. With a very pleasant climate averaging about 28 degrees celsius, it makes for perfect weather for exploring the capital Dubrovnik located on the Adriatic Sea. The second largest city in Croatia is Split, located on the Dalmation Coast. Split (Spalato in Italian) is a great place to see Dalmatian life as it’s really lived. ... With an enchanting old town idiosyncratically tucked into the ruins of a ancient Roman palace, Split is one of the jewels of Croatia’s glittering Adriatic coast.

The port town of Ancona, Italy( population 101,000) is often forgotten with all of the big cities and romantic areas to discover throughout Italy. A wander through this town will give you a true sense of what life is like in many Italian towns.

Pasetto is considered one of the  most beautiful metropolitan beaches in all of Italy, and the caves of  Passetto are a regular meeting place for the city’s inhabitants, since  the early 1900s. The caves offer lovely shade from the hot summer days  and are a nice quiet corner to enjoy the sea on which Ancona was built,  yet distant enough from the city to enjoy a little getaway.

In a  sense, the caves are a key part of Ancona’s history, with generation  after generation visiting the sea, and you can almost always hear the  laughter of young children weaving in and out the caves as they play on  the beach, while old fishermen lead their boats out, onto the sea.

It was founded by Greek settlers from Syracuse around 387 BC and its old  town, crowned by a dramatically sited cathedral, harbours many  reminders of its long history: archaeological artefacts, Roman arches,  Romanesque churches, and Renaissance palazzi that glow softly  in the evening light. Linger long enough in the hilltop parks, lively  boulevards and cafe-rimmed piazzas and you'll start to see the unique beauty of this seafront capital.

Come with us on this amazing adventure, and create some beautiful memories to treasure for a lifetime.

York and Leeds

After a full breakfast in our hotel dining room, our coach will depart at 8 AM en route to the ancient city of York .Our knowledgeable  guide for the day will keep us well informed of notable sights and history along our route.

We will travel for approximately 1 1/2 hours, and then stop in the City of Leeds to stretch our legs and spend some time at Leeds Kirkgate Market . Since 1857 it has been home to some of the most characterful traders in the city, with businesses spanning generations and representing a wide range of nationalities .  One of the largest indoor markets in Europe, Kirkgate is a shopper’s paradise from fresh food, drink and fashion to jewellerey, flowers, hardware and haberdashery. There's an incredible range of goodies to keep shopping bags bulging.  With the sights, smells and sounds of the market, Leeds Kirkgate Market has always been an experience.

Make sure you grab a few goodies in the market to take along with you today.

After we leave the market, we'll travel a short 30 minutes on to the fascinating city of York.

We will be met  by our dedicated guide at York Minster who will take us on a private tour of this 7th century cathedral known as one of the world’s most magnificent cathedrals. Our day will continue with a leisurely walking tour with our guide and a stop in the famous Shambles.

  • One of the world's most famous streets. The Shambles in York (officially just ‘Shambles’) is a narrow street of mostly timber buildings that date back as far as the 13th Century. The street was originally home to butchers, with each shop specialising in a different meat.
  • The Shambles York The Oldest Medieval Street In The World
https://xyuandbeyond.com/the-shambles-york2019-06-16 · The History of the Shambles York. The Shambles as a term is used to describe a maze of narrow twisty lanes in the centre of York. At the heart of the Shambles is the actual lane called The Shambles and it is obviously the best preserved medieval streets in the world. The Domesday Book of William the Conqueror mentions the Shambles in 1086.

We will leave this beautiful city about 4:30 PM to return to Manchester where we will share our first group dinner in our hotel.

Day 3 - September 1st

Day 3 - September 1st image

Chester and River Cruise

After a leisurely breakfast in our hotel, we will head off on a short drive to the delightful City of Chester. Chester has been a favourite stop with all of our previous groups.

Chester is a compact, walled city that is a sheer joy to explore, with lots of ruins, inviting shops and beautiful scenery.

Just so you get your bearings, we are going to start our time here today with a guided bus tour for an hour, followed by a private 2 hour cruise on the River Dee         ( which forms part of the boundary between Northern England and Wales.)

On board, our hosts will serve a spectacular lunch buffet as our Blue Badge guide gives us yet more information about the history and charms of Chester.

Once we are back on land , you will have a couple of hours to wander through the streets and shops of one of our favourite cities. Make sure you ask Neville about his favourite bakery before you head off exploring !

We will head back to Manchester at 5PM , have dinner together in our hotel, and the rest of the evening is free for you to explore Manchester.

We usually get Neville to take a walk up to very colourful Canal Street to see the vibrant sights and sounds with anyone interested in tagging along.

If Canal Street doesn't interest you, why not take a walk over to Annie's Restaurant on Banks Street for an evening snack and a brew at this restaurant owned by Our Fiz -  Jennie McAlpine and her husband. Lots of times Jennie is in the restaurant and very happy to chat with folks- especially those who have come all the way from Canada.

Day 4- September 2nd

Day 4- September 2nd image

Liverpool & The Beatles

We are off again after breakfast this morning on our short 1 hr trip to Liverpool.

Be ready to board our coach for a 9AM departure.

Liverpool is famous for its port, the Albert Dock area, and of course for producing one of the greatest music groups ever, The Beatles. We will meet our Liverpool specialist guide this morning  and enjoy an exciting and informative . We stop for a visit at the present day   We will get to see some of the childhood homes of the Beatles, Strawberry Field , Penny Lane, the statue of Eleanor Rigby dedicated to all the lonely people, the  18 ft. European Peace Monument in Chavasse Park dedicated to the memory of John Lennon which was unveiled October 9th, 2010 on what would have been his 70th birthday. We will also see the new 2018 bronze statues of the Beatles in front of the Pierhead Museum.

Our sightseeing tour will end at the Albert Dock in front of the Beatles Story Experience. Your included ticket to this award winning experience is an atmospheric journey into the life, times, culture and music of the Beatles. Not only does your admission cover the Albert Dock Beatles Story venue, but also includes admission to the Pier Head Beatles Story located at the Mersey Ferry Terminal ( there is a shuttle service available or you can opt to walk the 10 minutes ) The Pier Head location now permanently houses The Beatles Hidden Gallery. A series of 38 black and white photos which photographer Paul Berriff took of the Beatles during 1963 and 64 just months before Beatlemania struck, were forgotten in his attic for nearly 50 years. The images show the four in unguarded moments while rehearsing and relaxing, and in late August 2010 were placed on permanent display in the Pier Head Beatles Story location.

For those not interested in the Beatles Story, a visit to the International Slavery Museum or the Merseyside Maritime Museum might be of interest.

You might possibly take an hour and choose to take "The Ferry Cross the Mersey" made famous by Gerry and the Pacemakers in their hit song of 1965.

After soaking up all the fantastic Beatles memorabilia at The Beatles Story, just head outside and spend some leisurely time browsing in the many shops and cafes in the Albert Dock complex. Grab some lunch in this delightful area .

After a full day, our coach will depart at 5PM and head back to Manchester for dinner in our hotel.

Everything Corrie Private Studios Visit and Expert

Make sure you enjoy a great breakfast in the hotel this morning as you will no doubt be too excited to eat much lunch !

Have your phones and cameras charged and ready, as our coach will depart the hotel at approximately 8:30 this morning for our first stop at a local garden shop and tea room, where we will be met by our Corrie Expert Mark who will delight us for the next hour with lots of insider stories about our favourite Corrie stars.

You will have time to browse through the lovely shop ( Mark usually offers us a discount) and have a light lunch or snack before we depart for the studios.

Update*

Mark has actually JUST advised us today ( Nov 27th, 2019) that he is going to come out of retirement for us this day and do his very popular locations tour around Manchester. He stopped doing it 3 years ago but for the 60th Anniversary of Coronation Street will do it for our guests! We are thrilled ,as he comes on board our coach and takes us to many of the locations that have been used in filming various Coronation Street segments.

We will see the Red Rec and the Canal and the local church and the actual chimney stacks that are used in the opening of the show, plus he has a whole lot of new locations that he will be adding to the tour. This tour is such an added bonus, and with Mark's long association with the show and the actors, no one is able to give this in depth tour like he can. He will accompany us to the studios, and then afterwards will continue with another hour of fascinating locations, before we head back to the hotel.

It`s only about a 15 minute drive, but we want to make sure we are there in plenty of time for our 12 noon visit , so plan to be on board the coach at 11:30AM.

This day has brought many past tour members to tears as they got to rub shoulders with personalities who have been part of their lives for many years.

We never know what actors we will meet, or how many......but ITV never disappoints us , and always has a special treat in store for us ! With it being the 60th Anniversary of the show, it is indeed a privilege to be on the sets this year, and no doubt our friends at ITV will be planning something special for our visit.

Some years we have had as many as 20 different cast members milling around, chatting, taking photos with our guests, and enjoying being among some of their Canadian fans.  Some actors have even come in on their day off when they know we will be visiting. We have often been invited to watch the actual filming of a scene, and one year became part of a special documentary celebrating ( Our Rita) Barbara Knox`s 50 year anniversary on the show. For die hard Coronation Street fans it truly is a dream come true....and even if you are not a hard core Corrie fan, you will be swept up in all the excitement and thoroughly enjoy the experience !

We have lots of time to wander in and out of all the sets...the Kabin, Dev`s, The Bistro, Audrey`s, Roys Rolls , Streetcars, Preston`s Petals and the inside set of Tyrone and Fiz`s, Sally and Tim`s, Ken Barlow`s, The Platt`s, .... and this year we will also get to see the Weatherfield Police Station, Costa Coffee ,and Speed Daal !

It's a full afternoon and folks just about float onto the coach when it is time to leave.

This really is the epitome for Coronation Street fans, and we are so pleased to be able to share it with you !

After we leave the studios and head back to the hotel, ( after Mark finishes giving us his locations tour)  the rest of your day is free for you to enjoy as you wish.  Perhaps time to do a little souvenir shopping in nearby Arndale Shopping Mall, ( open until 9 PM) or if you didn't get to Annie's last night, you may want to head there before returning to our hotel for our farewell dinner.

The huge Trafford Centre shopping complex is about 6 km out of town and can be accessed by catching a local bus from Picadilly Gardens, a short 3 min walk from the hotel. The shops are open here until 10PM.

Whatever your choice, make sure to join us in the hotel dining room at 7PM for our farewell to England dinner. Time to reminisce and have some fun with your new found friends before we say farewell to England and go our separate ways.

Farewell England

Farewell England image

Goodbye England - Hello Venice

Well as they say , "all good things must come to an end", and it's time to bid farewell to Jolly Old England and our new friends who won't be joining us as we continue on to Venice.

For those who will be taking flights back to Canada or perhaps on to another destination, and those continuing on to Venice with us, there will be one early morning coach transfer to the Manchester airport. Please bring your luggage to the lobby this morning, to make sure it is included in the trip to the airport.

For those who will be staying on in Manchester or travelling later in the day , enjoy your breakfast in the hotel before checkout.

If you are planning to stay in Northern England for a few days, as of the time of publishing this brochure, the famous Blackpool Illuminations are scheduled to be switched on this evening. The actual date and time won't be confirmed until late spring 2020.There is a big switching on ceremony with a celebrity ( In 2019 it was Lucy Fallon " Our Bethany" from Coronation Street.) If you have never been to see the illuminations in Blackpool it is well worth the visit. It is the biggest free light show in the world with amazing fully lighted trams and trains in addition to massive coloured light displays along the 10 mile stretch. You can also visit Pleasure Beach, dance in the famous Blackpool Tower ballroom to the strains of the white organ that ascends from below, visit Madame Tussauds.  There is a lot to see and experience in this famous seaside town which is often mentioned on Coronation Street. You can grab a train from Manchester to Blackpool for the 1 hour journey and the cost is about $50 Canadian round trip.

If you have chosen to continue on with us to Venice, we will be travelling to the airport this morning. Once in Venice we will be transferred to our Venice Hotel, where we can enjoy this famous city before it is time to board our cruise ship at noon tomorrow.

Whatever your plans, we want to thank you sincerely for choosing to travel with us.

Safe journeys and good health until we meet again.

Day 7- September 5th

Day 7- September 5th image

Buongiorno Venezia !

Good Morning Venice !

You have the morning free to explore this lovely city.We have purposely not included breakfast this morning, so you can get out and explore Venice before it is time to board our ship.

There are hundreds of wonderful "pasticcerias" to choose from to have your morning coffee and croissant as you discover some of the hidden treasures of this famous city.

If you have always dreamed of having a gondola ride along Venice's Grand Canal, a 30 minute gondola which can hold 6 people will be 80 euros during the day. If you want to be serenaded, add another 40 euros ! After 7 PM the rate goes up to 100 euros.

Venice's best transportation value is the traghetto, a public gondola ferry. Traghetti are similar to privately rented gondolas, but you'll pay only €2 to cross the Grand Canal at one of the half-dozen ferry points between the railroad station and the Campo del Traghetto near St. Mark's Square.

The ride is short, and service can be sporadic, but the experience is memorable--especially if you emulate the Venetians by standing up during the crossing !

Just plan to be back to the hotel by 11:30 AM where we will meet in the lobby to continue on to the cruise port.

Our ship will set sail from Venice at 4:30 PM and we will plan to board between 12:30 and 1PM.

Split Croatia

Split Croatia image

Sunday Sept 6 7AM - 5PM

Croatia's second-largest city, Split (Spalato in Italian) is a great place to see Dalmatian life as it’s really lived. Always buzzing, this exuberant city has just the right balance between tradition and modernity. Step inside Diocletian’s Palace (a Unesco World Heritage Site and one of the world’s most impressive Roman monuments) and you’ll see dozens of bars, restaurants and shops thriving amid the atmospheric old walls where Split has been humming along for thousands of years.

To top it off, Split has a unique setting. Its dramatic coastal mountains act as the perfect backdrop to the turquoise waters of the Adriatic and help divert attention from the dozens of shabby high-rise apartment blocks that fill its suburbs. It's this thoroughly lived-in aspect of Split that means it will never be a fantasy land like Dubrovnik, but perhaps it's all the better for that.

Once on board our ship, you will receive an up to date itinerary that will include all the different shore excursions that are available from each port.

Santorini, Greece

 Santorini, Greece image

Tuesday ,September 8th 7:00AM- 3:00PM

Glamourous Santorini is deliciously different. Geographical newness is in part to thank. The island’s popular black volcanic Perissa and Kamari beaches are big draws, as is its arguably most famous Red Beach near Akrotiri (which is the place to go for archaeology buffs). Santorini curves round a giant lagoon in the Cyclades islands, offering stunning views from sky-high towns, eclectic cuisine, lovely galleries, thriving nightlife and excellent wines.

If you approach Santorini from the water, it's hard not to be awed by the sheer cliffs that soar above a turquoise sea, by the fact that you're sailing in an immense crater of a drowned volcano and that before you lies an island shaped by an ancient eruption cataclysmic beyond imagining.

High above, the main villages of Fira and Oia are a snow-drift of white Cycladic houses that line the cliff tops and spill like icy cornices down the terraced rock. And then there are the sunsets, with crowds breaking into applause as the sun disappears below the horizon.

In peak season, Santorini becomes a playground for the very wealthy, and while this has resulted in some stellar restaurants and superb wineries, the strain on the infrastructure is a concern. Still, there's relative seclusion found at the island's ancient sites, on hiking trails and beneath the waves.

Santorini is often ranked as one of the most romantic places on Earth, with stunning turquoise sea views and whitewashed cave houses that are backed by blue-domed churches spilling down the rim of an ancient volcanic crater. Eros, the winged god and son of Aphrodite seems to be inspiring passion among its visitors. You’ll find a host of outstanding restaurants that overlook the sunken caldera, offering the chance for candlelit dinners featuring aromatic Mediterranean flavors, including island-grown ingredients like tangy goat cheese, ripe cherry tomatoes and watermelon – paired with wines from some of the island’s famous vineyard’s, of course. You and your partner can also enjoy tasting bubbly and white Assyrtiko wines at SantoWines in Pyrgos, as well as dessert wines and rosés at Koutsoyannopoulos Winery and Wine Museum.

When you board the ship, you will receive full details about available optional shore excursions in Santorini .

Mykonos, Greece

Mykonos, Greece image

Tuesday Sept 8th 8PM -Wednesday September 9th 4AM

Mykonos is the great glamour island of Greece and flaunts its sizzling St-Tropez-meets-Ibiza style reputation.

If the mention of Mykonos doesn’t immediately bring to mind bright white buildings, turquoise skies and tanned bodies lining golden sandy beaches, you’ve been living under a rock. The most popular Greek Island in the Aegean Sea is all about energy and attracts a diverse and upscale crowd that thrives on its stylish nightlife. During the day some privacy can be had in the more secluded north beaches, but the south beaches are all party. Ski, jet-ski, windsurf, horseback ride, parasail or just save up your energy for the evening ahead, like most of your fellow travellers in Mykonos.

Mykonos is part of the Cyclades, lying between Tinos, Syros, Paros and Naxos. The island spans an area of 85.5 square kilometres and rises to an elevation of 341 metres at its highest point. There are 10,134 inhabitants, most of whom live in the largest town, Mykonos, which lies on the west coast. The town is also known as Chora. Mykonos's nickname is "The Island of the Winds". Tourism is a major industry and Mykonos is well known for its vibrant nightlife and for being a gay-friendly destination.

For anyone who has watched the British film "Shirley Valentine" when she escapes to Greece, it was filmed on the Island of Mykonos.

Choose to spend some time in Mykonos at one of the lively Greek Tavernas and restaurants where you can sample mouth watering traditional Greek dishes, seafood, and of course the spectacular anise flavoured Greek liquor Ouzo amid local Greek music. Do try to witness some Greek traditional dancing - it's wonderful and vibrant with dancers exclaimng "opa" throughout the dance.

Browse through the list of optional shore excursions available in Mykonos, when you board the ship, and enjoy this beautiful Greek Island.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Dubrovnik, Croatia image

Thursday September 10th 2PM-8PM

Visiting Dubrovnik may well be the highlight of your Croatian experience. The "pearl of the Adriatic" (according to Lord Byron) is a place of jaw-dropping beauty, making it by far Croatia's top sight. With massive walls punctuated with turrets, towers and gates enclosing streets, churches and palaces packed with art treasures, you'll never run out of things to see and do in Dubrovnik.

Dubrovnik was a city-state that once rivaled Venice in wealth and power. It reached its apogee during the 15th century and attracted the finest sculptors and architects to adorn the city center in a Renaissance style. Alas, the golden age ended with the earthquake of 1667 but the resilient city rebuilt, this time in a baroque style.

Dubrovnik gradually declined as a naval power but in the 20th century visitors flocked to the city making it the tourist highlight of former Yugoslavia. The bombing of Dubrovnik in 1991 attracted global attention as shells and mortars rained down on its lustrous streets.  With help from the international community, the damage was largely repaired by the end of the decade. and wandering through the city today , one would never know.

With a population of less than 43,000, it's a measure of Dubrovnik's devotion to culture that it can support its own symphony orchestra. Classical productions are regularly staged in the Marin Drzic theater and there are a wealth of art galleries showing contemporary works. There's a pride in local traditions that is easily apparent in Dubrovnik's regular local festivals and religious ceremonies. Women take pride in their appearance as well. No matter their age and even during the tough years following the war, Dubrovnik's women always dress with a ladylike emphasis on good grooming, well-coiffed hair and quality clothes. Food is also a proud part of Dubrovnik's heritage. Local fish and seafood, olive oil, wine, fruit and vegetables are a cherished part of Dubrovnik's dining experience. Locals demand the best ingredients and chefs are combining them in increasingly imaginative concoctions.

The gleaming marble streets of Dubrovnik are lined with baroque buildings punctuated by beautifully sculpted Renaissance fountains and facades. Dubrovnik's walls are the most intact and impressive in the Adriatic and clearly head the long list of Dubrovnik's essential sights.. Don't miss the Rector's Palace, Franciscan Monastery, Dominican Monastery, St. Blaise Church and the Cathedral. No wonder UNESCO named Dubrovnik a World Heritage Site !

Dubrovnik is more than a fascinating Old Town with an ancient history. It's also a first class Adriatic resort. Stretching out from the historical centre there is a network of beaches where you can laze away the day in the sun. Offshore, the crystal-clear sea is littered with wooded islands that make easy day trips, and the array of cafes, bars and clubs in and around the Old Town ensure that Dubrovnik at night is never dull !

You will receive a list of many exciting shore excursions in Dubrovnik when you board our ship.

Ancona, Italy

Ancona, Italy image

Friday September 11th 10AM - 6PM

Ancona is often written off as just another port. But, in fact, there's more to this historic city than ferries and transport connections, and to bypass it would be to miss much.

Linger long enough in the hilltop parks, lively boulevards and cafe-rimmed piazzas and you'll start to see another side to Le Marche's seafront capital.

Ancona's fascinating civic art gallery houses Le Marche's most important art collection. Spread over two 16th- to 17th-century palazzi, the museum traces the development of art in the region, skilfully juxtaposing modern and medieval works with daring disregard for either tradition or expectation. Unmissable masterpieces include the Pala Gozzi (1520), the first painting signed and dated by Titian, and Carlo Crivelli's absolutely flooring Madonna col Bambino (Madonna and Child; c 1480).

With its distinct pentagonal form, the waterfront Mole Vanvitelliana (also known as the Lazzaretto) is one of Ancona's signature buildings, a five-pointed star floating on the sea. Designed and built by the architect Luigi Vanvitelli in the 1730s, it originally served as a quarantine station for those suffering with leprosy,  but over the years has also been a military base and tobacco factory. Nowadays, it hosts cultural events and the Museo Tattile Statale Omero, a museum that encourages people with vision impairments to feel their way around reproductions of celebrated sculptures and artworks.

Enjoy wandering the quiet streets of this quiet Italian city, and experiencing some of Italy other than the crowded big and famous cities.

You will receive a list of great shore excursions in Acona when we board our ship.

Venice, Italy

Venice, Italy image

Saturday September 12, 2020 8 AM

As we sleep soundly in our cabins , our ship will glide into port in Venice in the wee small hours of the morning, bringing this magical vacation to a close.

Grab some breakfast early this morning, and then listen carefully to the announcements for disembarkation.

Cruise ships must process each and every passenger through immigration before they can start the disembarkation process. Although we "officially" dock at 8AM and the ship may be in port for several hours before that, clearing everyone to leave the ship can be a lengthy process, and it could be several hours before you actually walk down the gangway off the ship.

Make sure your luggage has been placed outside your stateroom the night before and is well identified. When you wake up in the morning, it will most likely be gone, as the crew works through the night organizing luggage in preparation for docking.

Once off the ship, locate your luggage and you will be good to go !

There will be hundred's of taxi's waiting to take cruise passengers to their destinations.

A taxi to the airport will be about 40 euros for two people, and takes about 30 minutes.

Our time together ends here when we arrive back in Venice.

We hope you have had an amazing time, made lots of new friends, saw things you only dreamed about, and are taking away a treasure box full of wonderful memories.

Thank you sincerely for choosing to share your precious vacation time with us.

Until we meet again......safe travels, and good health.

An Italian Blessing

May your life be like good wine,

Tasty, sharp and clear,

And like good wine, may it improve ,

with every passing year.
