If you cancel your trip at any time after the 1st payment has been made you will need to file a claim with your insurance provider to reclaim any funds paid towards your trip.
If for any reason THETRAVELJUNKEES are not able to visit our desired destination this trip will be postponed to a later date and time. If you can not make the dates for the rescheduled trip you will have the option to go at your leisure on your own. In some cases we may be able to (depending on the dates) roll over monies paid to a TTJ tour for the future. In the event you opt out of either options you will be responsible for filing a claim with your insurance provider to recoup any monies paid.

Arrive in Johannesburg, South Africa. Here we will have our welcome dinner at the hotel once we arrive and check in.
The Ultimate Johannesburg Tour takes you to iconic heritage sites in Johannesburg CBD and Soweto; showcasing South Africa’s turbulent history and promising future.
It’s an opportunity to learn more about events that shaped the country’s past and discover the dynamic cultural diversity of two of the most prominent cities in the country.
Highlights of the Johannesburg tour includes Constitutional Hill, Carlton Centre, the Apartheid Museum and the vibrant Newtown Junction.
In Soweto, we journey past striking landmarks and historic sites, visit an informal settlement and the Hector Pieterson Museum and ends in the vibrant Vilakazi Street which was home of the great Nelson Mandela.
We take you to Lesedi Cultural Village, where you will enjoy the rich African culture first hand. The people of Lesedi have created an African ambiance that you won’t find elsewhere!
After touring for the day we will end up back at the hotel so we can relax and get ready to ring in the New Year Jo-burg style.
Transportation will not be provided. We will work with all guests that want to attend to the NYE celebration to utilize Uber or taxis
This is a day for you to relax, take in a spa day, do some independent shopping, or explore Johannesburg.
The Lion & Safari Park is a 30-45-minute drive from Johannesburg, located in the historic Cradle of Humankind. It’s a protected conservation area that’s home to over 80 lions, including the famous white lions that starred in the internationally-acclaimed “The White Lion” feature film. It’s also home to cheetah, hyena, wild dogs, various antelope and a tower of tame giraffe.
The Lion & Safari Park offers guests an enjoyable mini-safari experience in a malaria-free area. Explore over 600 hectares of the lions’ natural habitat in a specialized safari vehicle with a professional game ranger. Learn more about lions and the other wild animals in the safari park and enjoy a morning or afternoon in the country.
Here we will catch our morning flight over to Zimbabwe then we will have a group lunch at the Lookout Café. After lunch the day will be yours.
We awake, after breakfast we are then whisked away to our boat waiting to cruise us down the Chobe river from Zimbabwe to Botswana. Once we arrive, we will then partake in lunch, just before our safari game drive in the national park.
Perched on the banks of the river, on arrival gather around the fire-pit before following the lanterns to your table for dinner – the roar of the distant Falls, the grunting hippos and call of the fiery-necked nightjar for company.
The Eatery Dinner Experience focuses on a carefully curated selection of African infused dishes prepared with high quality ingredients and prepared to perfection, each accompanied by your drink of choice.
We say goodbye to Zimbabwe and fly over to Cape town. After getting settled later that evening we have our final group dinner with everyone at the famed Gold Restaurant Cape Town.
Take a walk through the old prison (with the obligatory peek into Mandela’s cell), as well as a 45-minute bus ride around the island with commentary on the various places of note, such as the lime quarry in which Mandela and many others did hard labour, the little house where Robert Sobukwe, leader of the Pan-Africanist Congress was held in solitary confinement for six years, and the church used during the island’s stint as a leper colony.
Savor wine tasting at up to 4 wine estates, and see some fabulous Cape Dutch architecture of which the region is famous for, relish a town orientation tour in the winelands town of Stellenbosch as we visit the university campus and the oldest shop in the country.
This is your day to relax and do some sight seeing on your own, or shop, or take a walk around the Victoria and Alfred Wharf.

We all knew it had to happen. Although we don't want to say goodbye this brings us to the end of our wonderful trip together.
