Here, you’ll dive into the story of Costa Rica’s “golden grain”—from its humble beginnings to becoming one of the country’s most prized exports. Local guides will lead you through the coffee-making process, sharing insights into every step—from the planting and harvesting to the roasting and brewing. You’ll also have time to shop for fresh coffee and other local specialties to take a piece of Costa Rica home with you.
After exploring the coffee fields, we continue to the charming town of Sarchí, famous for its colorful oxcarts—a symbol of Costa Rica’s rural heritage. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, featuring authentic Costa Rican cuisine. Afterward, you’ll experience an oxcart workshop, where artisans will show you how these beautifully hand-painted carts are crafted. Learn about the deep cultural significance of oxcarts, which have been declared Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, and even try your hand at painting!
