Aguas Calientes Town to Hydroelectric Bus Station

The day begins with an exciting visit to Machu Picchu. There are two ways to get there: by taking a bus from Aguas Calientes (30 minutes) or by hiking for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. We recommend taking the bus up. To do so, you should leave your accommodation at 4:15 AM to queue and catch the first bus at 5:20 AM (the goal is to enter Machu Picchu at 6:00 AM).

After exploring and marveling at Machu Picchu, the visit must end no later than 11:00 AM to begin the descent to Puente Ruinas at 11:45 AM. This walk takes around 45 to 50 minutes. From Puente Ruinas, the trail becomes more level as we continue walking until reaching Hidroelectrica station.

From 2:40 – 2:50 PM, our minibuses will be ready at Hidroelectrica to return to Cusco, with a brief stop for restroom use in Alfamayo. We will finally arrive in Cusco between 9:45 and 10:00 PM, concluding the service at Plaza San Francisco.
