Considered the Culinary Capital of Croatia, this foodie tour is for you if dreamy mountaintop villages overflowing with truffles, olive oil, and wine are your thing. You absolutely cannot miss this trip! 


You'll start in the capital of Zagreb for a delightful deep dive into Yugoslavian history, then wind along the coast of the Adriatic's largest peninsula with sea views for days.


Visit locals in their homes, meet artists, and go behind the scenes on exclusive experiences created just for our group!


**This is an intimate tour (12 guests, maximum) carefully curated by experiental travel expert Juliana Dever in collaboration with locals. 


This tour is a unique and authentic cultural immersion adventure into coastal Croatia's history and traditions. This 11-day trip is a female-led experience and supports women-owned businesses and local artisans with a mission to positively impact every community we visit.

Days 1-3 Zagreb/Varazdin

Day 1 - 3: Overnight in Zagreb

  • Kick off your journey across northwest Croatia with a walking tour of Zagreb's old city center, a welcome dinner at one of the oldest restaurants, and a party at an old Yugoslavian museum 


  • Our local guide Darija will pull you deep into local history with her one-of-a-kind cemetery tour, and our friend Antonija will have you laughing and cheering as she shows you the city like only she can, in her small fleet of Yugos.   


  • Get to know local life as you split into small groups for dinner with locals


  • Head to a little-known and marvelously uncrowded castle in the hills, then wander the streets of the beautiful village of Varaždin

Days 4, 5 Opatija / Krk

Day 4 & 5: Overnight in Opatija

  • Time in the seaside Austro-Hungarian town of Opatija


  • Walk the Lungomare - a 12 km picturesque promenade along the Adriatic. Enjoy sea views and salty air, elegant Austrian villas, and outdoor dining options  


  • Visit the island of Krk - for lunch on a cliffside


  • Explore the tiny village of Vrbnik where you'll get a chance to see the world's narrowest street, and wine taste with the first female "wine knight" of Croatia.

Days 6-7 Motovun/Buzet

Day 6, 7: Overnight in Motovun

  

  • Brandy tastings at a gorgeous family distillery in the small village of Buzet


  • Go truffle hunting in the forests of Istria with an adorable dog. 


  • Relax on a terrace in the hilltop village of Motovun as a chef cooks up your truffles along with polenta, pasta, and other to-die-for dishes.


  • Take part in the annual Zigante Truffle Festival which only happens in October


  • Sip local sparkling wine as you cruise through a fjord

Day 8-10: Rovinj/Labin

 Day 8-10: Overnight in Rovinj


  • Hailed as one of the best winemakers in Croatia you’ll try a handful of whites and reds made by a vintner who's a little dreamer and a little bit rock and roll  


  • Visit a family-run olive oil farm and enjoy a tasting of delectable oils and noshes


  • Roam the cobblestone streets of one of the most important towns of the Venetian Empire - Rovinj


  • Climb St. Euphemia’s 17th Century bell tower to get a glorious view of the peninsula and Adriatic Sea


  • Filled with art ateliers and coffee shops, explore Labin, a medieval town with harbor views, terraces, and little boutiques


  • Take a forest hike past waterfalls and reflection pools or opt to head straight to Kvarner Bay for some time by the water.


  • Meet up for Mediterranean beach drinks with your travel mates in Rabac

Day 11: Overnight in Pula


  • Snuggle GOATS at a family farm and sit down for a traditional Croatian Marenda lunch.


  • Take a walking tour of Pula, a seafront city on the tip of the Istrian Peninsula.


  • Visit the Pula Arena - the only remaining Roman amphitheater to have its circular walls entirely preserved.


  • Attend a party set up just for us (but invites all kinds of colorful folks from the local art scene) in a gallery by the sea


  • Relax in the lush landscape of your seafront wellness hotel (you might want to stay an extra night just to enjoy the space!)
