Today, we will meet at the Omaha airport and depart on our overnight flight to Zurich, Switzerland.

Friday, April 11

Welcome to Zurich, a cosmopolitan city by the water that combines creative urban life with nature in all its glory! Upon arrival at the airport, we will meet our driver and guide and transfer to the city of Basel. Along the way, take in the sights of this beautiful city that is located where the Swiss, French, and German borders meet and is known for its art and architecture. Join our guide for a walking tour of the Old Town Center of Basel, then we’ll get checked in to our one-night accommodations at Hotel Euler and get rested for an exciting week to come.

Saturday, April 12

Following a relaxed morning, we will receive a warm welcome aboard the Emerald Cruise Star Ship Destiny from the friendly captain and crew. We will then settle into our accommodations for the seven-night cruise along the majestic Rhine. Later in the evening, we will gather with our fellow travelers for a delightful dinner.

Sunday, April 13

Today, we will experience the tale of two cities divided by the Rhine, Breisach and Neuf-Brisach. During our guided visit to these two gems of the Rhine River, we'll pass by the main sights and attractions, one of which is the UNESCO World Heritage-listed fortress overlooking Neuf-Brisach, offering breathtaking panoramic views and a journey through centuries of heritage. Get ready to be enchanted by these two scenic cities, each boasting a wealth of cultural treasures and architectural marvels. Dinner will be enjoyed back on the ship this evening as we overnight in port.

We will dock in Kehl, Germany, and transfer by coach across the river to Strausbourg, France, a popular tourist destination and the center of European policy making on the border between France and Germany. Led by a knowledgeable local guide, we'll unravel the city's rich tapestry of history during an immersive guided tour. Wander through cobbled squares adorned with quaint boutiques and

cozy cafés, each corner exuding an old-world allure that captivates the senses. Our exploration continues into the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town, a fascinating mosaic of architectural wonders, including the iconic Petite France. An area of unmatched beauty, the picturesque canal system cascades past half-timbered houses once home to fishermen, tanners, and millers during the Middle Ages. Every narrow lane and footbridges that pepper the area add to the undeniable charm of this historic quarter. This afternoon, Strasbourg is

This morning, we'll arrive in Ludwigshafen and set off on a tour to Schwetzingen. At the heart of Schwetzingen lies the impressive Schwetzingen Palace, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture. Constructed in the 18th century as the summer residence of the Electors Palatine, the palace stands today as a testament to the region's rich cultural heritage, drawing visitors worldwide with its opulent interiors and grand gardens. Explore the palace interior and wander through the enchanting Palace Gardens, adorned with over one hundred magnificent sculptures, or for those interested in a different adventure, the wellness town of Bad-Dürkheim offers a tempting option. Take a scenic hike through lush vineyards, where breathtaking vistas and a sense of serenity await, rejuvenating the soul. Return to the ship this

Today, our journey takes us to Koblenz, an ancient city pulled from the pages of a German fairy tale. Enjoy the picturesque backdrop of vineyards and snow-topped mountain ranges as our knowledgeable local guide leads us through charming open squares paved with cobblestones and winding streets lined with façades adorned with vibrant spring flowers. Along the way, we'll have the privilege of

witnessing the confluence of two mighty European rivers at the iconic German Corner. Marvel at this breathtaking natural spectacle and delve into the fascinating history surrounding the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, a monumental fortress that stands as one of the largest and best-preserved in all of Europe. The largest city on the Rhine awaits our arrival! Once a bustling trade route connecting both sides of Europe, today it stands as a vibrant hub for exploring Roman history, showcasing ornate mosaics that have withstood the test of time. Our insightful guided tour of Cologne will reveal the city's tumultuous past, where the ravages of WWII transformed its streets into blank canvases, resulting in the loss of ancient monuments and cultural treasures. Despite these challenges, many of the city's historic buildings have been meticulously restored and now harmoniously coexist with modern architectural marvels. A highlight of our journey will be the awe-inspiring Cologne Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed masterpiece constructed over six centuries using medieval techniques, ensuring its timeless authenticity. As we continue our journey, we'll also explore the Botanical Gardens, a serene oasis established in the 19th century and cherished by millions of visitors annually.

After breakfast we will disembark the ship and transfer to the airport for our flight home.

Post Tour:

Once checked in to our hotel, you’ll have the day at your leisure to explore more of Amsterdam, lovingly referred to as the “Venice of the North!” The capital of the Netherlands is known for its artistic heritage, elaborate canal system, abundance of bicycles, and historic homes. Laid-back, full of history, and brimming with vibrant culture – few European cities are as multifaceted as Amsterdam. Our accommodations await at Room Mate Aitana Hotel where we’ll settle in for the next three nights.
