Why Nicaragua? If you are asking that question, it means you haven’t been there and we CAN’T WAIT to take you! One our favorite parts of hosting retreats is taking adventure & yoga loving folks like yourself to unspoiled gems around the world. And Nicargua is just that… a very special gem.
Think Nicaraguan waves that just lift you up on your surf board (for reals, Shayla has never stood up anywhere else). Or volcanic valleys with all the Mars-like vibes. Or the darkest night sky glittered with more stars that you thought possible. And Oh yeah, the yoga… in a Shala overlooking the ocean. NO JOKE!
Each day in this gem of a country will start with a morning practice of movement and meditation overlooking the ocean with free time in the afternoons scattered with surfing and adventurous excursions like sandboarding down a black sand volcanic mountain (think sledridding down a volcano!). Our time together will nourish our body, mind and soul with just the right mix for each.
So whether you are coming for the yoga, the adventures, the surfing or the silence this retreat is a chance to undress the complexities of everyday life and enjoy some quality time with yourself and this gorgeous gem of a country.
The entire OCEANFRONT retreat center will be ours to enjoy as a private group! The beach is rocky, moody and absolutely gorgeous. The accommodations are made up of 4 two-story cabanas.
The bottom floor is a shared space with 4 twin beds and a shared outdoor bathroom (that is ridiculously awesome). This is a great option for a group of friends traveling together or a solo traveler excited to make new travel buddies! If you are apprehensive about sharing a space with (not long to be) strangers, trust us. We thoughtfully room you with like-minded, wonderlusters.
The top floor is a private space that has two twin beds that can also be arranged as one large bed. This can be booked privately or with your partner or favorite travel buddy. To book as a double occupancy you must book twice, price is per person.

Nicaragua is HOT! The nice part about going towards the end of November and the end of the rainy season is the mornings and evenings are comfortable and slightly cool. The landscapes are lush and it is gorgeous! Once you register, we will send you a list of all the must bring things! But expect to enjoy warm weather!
Pricing varies based on the packages below. No matter the package we are committed to you having a complete experience from the time you land without hidden expenses. Our retreats include all ground transportation, meals, group excursions and even gratuity. Extras (as always) are available including alcohol, smoothies, sodas, spa services and endless bookable adventures.
To secure your spot!!! Pick your package and make your non-refundable $500 deposit. The remaining balance will be split between two remaining payments on June 1, 2024 and September 1, 2024. Final payment must be received by September 1, 2024. Payment plan can be customized if needed. Just reach out and we can see what works best for you!
All registration and payments must be made through this WeTravel page. If you pay via bank transfer, there is no transaction fee. If you pay by credit card, 2.9% is added for Visa/Mastercard and 3.9% is added for AMEX.

We will spend 7 days & 6 nights at Still Salty Escape. Participants will have the option to book an additional night prior to the start of the retreat for an additional cost.
Delicious and nutritious vegetarian meals will be offered daily. Accommodations can be made for dietary restrictions!
Most days participants will have the option of 2 yoga classes with a more power vinyasa based class in the morning and a slower, more restorative practice in the evening
Following our morning practice we will have a guided mediation and opportunity for journaling and/or personal reading

Not sure what this is? No worries! Neither did we but now we are hooked! Enjoy a morning hike with gorgeous vistas followed by sand boarding (think sled riding) down a black sand volcano!
$50 Gratuity has been added to the cost of the retreat to thank the welcoming staff at Still Salty escape

$10 travel visa collected upon arrival to Nicaragua when going through immigration. Have cash for this.
We highly recommend travel insurance. Please reach out for recommendations if you have never used it before.
Arrival/Departure tax is not included but often included in the cost of the airplane ticket.
Surf board and transportation outside of our surf lesson is not included but can be rented for a daily fee around $20.

Still Salty has entirely too many fun excursions for us to include. Additional activities can be scheduled during your free time!
Welcome to Still Salty Escape. Check in officially begins at 2pm but you are welcomed whenever you arrive. We will plan to have an opening ceremony at 4:30pm followed but a much needed slow flow yoga practice after a long day of travel. Dinner will be served around 6pm.
*No worries if you are arriving late! Staff will save dinner for you!
In addition to our morning yoga practice, our first full Nicaraguan day will include a surfing lesson. No worries if this is your first time! The nearby beach is perfect for beginners.
We believe there is no better place connection naturally brews than in the kitchen. In addition to our yoga practice and relaxation, we will gather together in the Still Salty Kitchen for a cooking class!
You are just going to have to trust us on this one. We will hike to the top of a volcano, passing breathtaking vistas along the way, and then sit on a wooden board and slide down a black sand mountain. A Nicaraguan specialty.
No worries, we have yoga to calm the nerves afterwards 😀
Lot‘s of free time today. Those that would like to come along, we will have a sunset boat tour!
This day is all for you. We will have our two yoga practices and end the day with our closing ceremony. But this last day is all yours to fill with as much (or as little) as you want.
Our last morning together will start with an early morning practice for those that would like to wake up early. We will eat breakfast together and start to make the trek home, not saying goodbye, Just “See you soon.” 🩵
