About your trip

TRIP INFO | Perseid Meteor Shower Star Gazing Trip (3 days, Aug 13-15):

Join the expert guides of Go Wild on this stargazing extravaganza backpacking excursion into Oregon's largest wilderness. This group trip is fantastic wilderness adventures for first-timers and seasoned experts alike. During your trek, dine on hyper-local elevated backpacking meals, sip on craft cocktails, explore incredible alpine lakes and vistas, and try your hand at one of many custom activities: fly fishing, foraging lessons, star gazing, and more.

Expect to carry a backpack weighing close to between 25-40lbs, including all of your own gear plus a portion of camp food. Daily hike distances range from 5-10 miles and up to 1500' elevation gain. Hike hard, play (and eat) harder!

This trip takes you into a secret wilderness basecamp location with wide open views of some of the West's darkest skies. The Perseid Meteor shower is a dazzling annual solar event with about 50 to 100 meteors seen per hour. Lay down, warm cocktail in hand and watch the heavens descend. Also, try your hand at astro-photography with our resident photographer. Contact us for a luxury mule pack Perseid trip.

Out of the Wilderness

After your last delicious camp meal and bottomless coffee, pack up your gear and hit the trail. While it's tempting to put your head down and hustle  (like a horse to the barn), even your last day is a chance to deepen your experience in the wild and enjoy the stroll back to civilization.

Typically, groups reach the trailhead between 1-4PM, please plan flights & travel plans accordingly.

Before your final departure, be sure to pick up custom Go Wild gifts, from  t-shirts, to hand made leather work to local art prints of your location.
