Day 1

Arrival-Kilimanjaro International Airport

On your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be met by our team who will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha 

Day 2

Day 2 image

Arusha City Tour

Our guests have shared how important this day is for them to rest before going on safari. Use this day to purchase any last-minute things you might need while on safari. After breakfast at your hotel, our crew will pick you at 10: 00am to take you for a city tour of Arusha. We will visit the following places:

- Tanzanite Experience Museum

- SANAA

-Shoprite Mall for any last-minute snacks, toiletries or anything you might need while on safari

We will enjoy authentic Swahili lunch at Asili Lodge 

Day 3

Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked by our drivers at 08:00am (with packed lunch) and drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara National Park offers a wilderness experience in diverse habitats, from its rift valley soda lake to dense woodlands and steep mountain sides. It is also well-known for tree climbing lions. Overnight in specially selected lodges in Karatu.

Lake Eyasi Hunter-Gatherer Communities

After breakfast, we will drive to the Southwest end of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (with our packed lunch accompanied by a local guide) to the Hadzabe and Datoga communities which are the only remaining hunter-gatherer communities in East Africa. Dinner and overnight in Karatu.

Olduvai Gorge-Southern Serengeti

After breakfast at the hotel, with our packed lunch, we will drive to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge(about 3 to 4 hours). Olduvai Gorge is an archaeological site located in the Northern plains of Ngorongoro Conservation Area where early human fossils were discovered ( Imagine yourself traveling to the cradle of mankind). After touring the site, we will have lunch and then drive to Serengeti National Park. On the way, you will be able to view

wildlife before reaching the lodge in the evening. 

Day 6&7

Full-Day Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we will venture into Serengeti’s wilderness for full-day game viewing in the park. Enjoy exploring this world heritage site where the world’s largest concentration of animals still roams freely. Overnight in Central Serengeti.  

Day 8

Serengeti-Ngorongoro-Masai Boma

After breakfast, with packed lunch, we will drive Southward towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area with wildlife viewing on the way. We will have our lunch break at Naabi Hill (exit gate in Serengeti) as we register to enter Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On the way, we will stop at one of the Maasai Bomas in Ngorongoro Area to learn, experience, and enjoy Maasai culture. 

Overnight in Ngorongoro Conservation Area 

Day 9

Ngorongoro Crater

 After early breakfast you will descend to the crater for early morning game drive inside the crater. This is the best place in Tanzania to see the black rhino as well as prides of lions that includes the magnificent black-manned males. There are lots of colorful flamingoes and a variety of water birds. Other game that you can see includes leopards, cheetahs, hyena, other members of the antelope family, small mammals, hippos, and many more. 

You will enjoy your lunch at a picnic site in the crater floor and proceed with afternoon game drive.

Late in the afternoon we will drive to Karatu for overnight and rest. 

Day 10

Tarangire-Arusha

On this day we will tour another magnificient National Park-Tarangire National Park. This is Tanzania's fourth largest park offering diverse wildlife and scenery including giant baobab trees. It is home to the largest herds of elephants in East Africa!. These herds migrate along the wildlife corridor to nearby Lake Manyara National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Animal populations here rival those of the Serengeti so you will have a chance to see wildebeests, zebras, elands, hartebeests, buffalos, gerenuks, fringe eared Oryx, and flocks of birds of various species. In the late afternoon we will drive back to Arusha.

Arusha Light Excursions and Rest

Rest and time at River Trees After seven days on safari, we will take things a little slow today. After lunch at the hotel, we will take a light excursion around Lake Duluti-a crater lake with some of the finest bird sighting and sunset.

Seela Village Tour & Tree Planting

A safari with Lendimi is not complete without sharing the culture and the traditions of our tribes. On this day we will tour the village of Seela to meet with community members and participate in a tree-planting exercise. By planting a tree, you will be participating in restoring nature and leaving a life that will outlive your time in Tanzania. Return to hotel in the evening.
