Our 1 day trip to explore the incredible Wildlife Sanctuary known as Saadani National Park on the shores of the Indian Ocean is one of the adventurous short tours for East Africa’s visitors. There is nothing more rewarding than blending a bush and beach holiday as well as animals basking on the white-sandy beaches. Expect yellow baboons, Reedbucks, Cape buffaloes, Hartebeests, giraffes, wildebeests, common warthogs, elephants, Sable antelopes, greater kudu, common elands and vervet monkeys than sun-bathers on the beach 

Pick up from your Zanzibar place of stay or Airport for a drive to Hotel Verde (Zanzibar), a luxury Resort or Kendwa Beach for a sunrise boat ride to Saadani National Park. This boat ride takes between one hour and one hour 30 minutes. On getting to Saadani National Park, you will be welcomed by the drastic change in ecosystems to a typical African wilderness with our team of tour guides waiting to receive and take you through your adventure.

No time to waste and straightaway begin the game drive where you will be mesmerized by the richness in diversity with a short break for delicious lunch in one of the Beach restaurants or better still picnic Lunch while enjoying the beauty of the Park and azure Indian Ocean. You will be surprised with common sights of Hartebeests, common warthogs, yellow baboons, Hippos, Vervet monkeys, Defassa waterbucks and warthogs while other animals like Reedbucks, zebras, greater kudu and buffaloes will be occasionally encountered in this park. The Leopards, lions, cheetahs and spotted hyenas are rare and this encountering them during the game drive is by luck.

If you still have enough time after the short afternoon game drive, you will proceed for the boat ride on River Wami for views of crocodiles and Hippos as well as seagulls and other bird species (optional activities at surcharge). Before sunset hop on the speed boat to return back to Zanzibar and this marks the end of this day trip to explore the wild beauty of Saadani National Park by water taxi.
