Eat your way through the often overlooked parts of Mexico City while supporting the local economy and family-owned businesses.
+Please note this is a grassroots tour. We won't take you to Condesa/Polanco/fancy places+
Are you a vegan or vegetarian, and feel like you are missing out on Mexico City's iconic street food? Fear not, for we are here to feed you! This all-you-can-eat adventure will have you eat your way through middle and working-class Mexican neighborhoods packed with delicious and authentic food like tlacoyos, quesadillas, all while suporting local and family/minority owned businesses.
Focusing on four different neighborhoods and with a route that spans approximately 3.5 km through CDMX, we will visit hidden gems, street-food stalls, and brick-and-mortar family places. I'll immerse you in Mexico City's local culture and show you where we Mexicans eat and hang out.
You will taste traditional vegan (or veggie!) street food, vegan tacos al pastor & suadero made from soy, the best vegan tiramisu, tortas de milanesa and even churros!
We will go into detail about how the food is made, and give you information about its relevance and place in Mexican culture. Furthermore, we will also dive into the current social and political context of the city.

"Garnachas" as the locals affectionaly call EVERYTHING that comprises the vast universe that is street food in Mexico City, will be your first stop. You will try quesadillas, tlacoyos, sopes and pambazos in a family-run spot that has been operating for about 30 years.
We will go to a working class neighborhood and try the best vegan tacos in the city (no, that is not an understatement) You will try pastor, suadero and chicharron tacos.
After those fantastic tacos, we will embark on a 20 min walk of a lesser-known part of Mexico City. You'll learn about mexican society and hear interesting bits and pieces of contemporary history as well as current events.
We all know how hard it is to make vegan "seafood". This is why we want to show you how incredible it can be (if you do it right) You will choose from an array of options like veggie-tuna, aguachile and ceviche tostadas, "fish" tacos and so much more!
Tortas are a staple of Mexico City street food. At this stop, you will eat the best vegan torta while supporting a project which works with animal shelters and is active in the animal welfare movement.
To end in a sweet note, you'll try authentic churros at a lively neighborhood.
