Thank you Abril! When a torrential downpour began at the exact same time as our tour, Abril pivoted and we Ubered to our first spot to enjoy tacos while waiting for the downpour to finish. The tacos there were amazing as was the food at each stop. Abril was the exact type of person you would want to spend an afternoon with- friendly, fun, worldly, extremely knowledgeable about CMEX, and with a great sense of humor. We would do this trip all over again! Thank you Abril!

The Teotihuacan Pyramids experience with Sharon was the last of three Travelling Herbivore tours my husband and I did on our 7-day CDMX trip! After loving our first two tours (veg street food tour & veg market tour) so much, we had very high hopes for this tour and we were not disappointed! We met with Sharon at 7am so we could be the surreal and incredible site of the Teotihuacan Pyramids early, where we met Miguel. Miguel is a local guide who knew pretty much everything you could know about the pyramids and the people, and he injected so much humor and levity into the tour. We spent the first few hours soaking in the incredible history, climbing a pyramid, and connecting with people from thousands of years ago, before heading to Miguel’s home, where his family runs an obsidian workshop. We enjoyed some delicious prickly pear and sips of mezcal with Miguel’s family. Then, we headed over to a vegan brunch at a local family-owned business. This tour, unlike the other two we did, was not food-focused, but the food was still memorable and delicious, and super needed after climbing the Sun pyramid. My husband rated this his favorite tour of the three, because of how much he learned (and despite his slight sun burn- don’t be like us and forget to bring hats lol). Every person we met was kind and generous, and we are so grateful that we were here. 10/10 for each tour!!!!!

The Market Explorer & Salsa Making Lesson with Sharon is the second of the three tours my husband and I did on our 7-day CDMX trip! We looked forward to this tour as foodies who love cooking, especially after how great our first tour (Veg Street Tour) was, and this tour exceeded our expectations! This tour was much more than exploring the markets, because we also learned a lot about CDMX’s history via the gorgeous, historic art murals that were on the walls and ceilings of the markets. The markets were the center of life and community for people everywhere, so you truly get to get an intimate peek at life in the past and present. After our tours of several markets (and a visit into the gorgeous Iglesia Nuestra Señora del Pilar “La Enseñanza”) and purchasing the most delicious Oaxacan mole to bring home, we went to our salsa class! My husband and I are not new to cooking at all, but this class, taught by a family who have owned their shop for generations, was truly so special. They made us feel like visiting family, and we are so grateful to them for that. We’d love to be back.

The vegan and vegetarian street food tour with Sharon was the first of the three Travelling Herbivore tours that my husband I and I did on our seven-day trip to CDMX! We’re so happy we did this, especially on our first full day, because 1.) we loved it so much that we booked two more tours with Travelling Herbivore and 2.) it helped us become familiar with the working class neighborhood and the beautiful, vibrant finds there, including but not limited to the INCREDIBLE food. Sharon is so intimately familiar with the city and all of the wonderful secrets we would not have been able to find by ourselves, or with Google or TikTok or Instagram. She is also aligned with our ethos of wanting do as little harm to animals and people alike, especially as tourists supporting locals whenever possible. While I enjoyed the trendy spots I was recommended online in Roma Norte and Condesa, my favorite spots by far were in the stalls introduced to us by Sharon. We’re excited to come back to CDMX and have our friends experience this truly unique and special tour too!

My boys & I had an amazing time visiting the beautiful Teotihuacan Pyramids with Sharon on our visit to Mexico City. The homemade lunch was super yum, and getting to see & learn about Miguel's (our tour guide) family business was a bonus! We'll be back for sure :)
