We unfortunately had an unpleasant time on the tour. The food spots were great. However, our price included all vegan foods and 1 of the items they included in this was fruit and another one was a juice option. So in total, we had vegan soy tacos, vegan fish tacos, and 1 small sopes. and 1 small quesadilla - so really only 3 spots with actual food and not just fruit/dessert/drinks. At one location, they even asked us to split 3 tacos with another person. I kindly refused because I paid good money for this tour and wanted to tet my worth. There was an elderly couple in our group, Sharon was passive aggressive towards this family and everyone could tell. They had promised tortas at the beginning of the tour and we never got them. I asked for a partial refund for this, and they mocked me and dismissed my concern. I see that Mena replied to my comment. He is lying - I don’t have a friend named Olivia lol and none of what he is saying is true. I never wandered off from the group. Sharon didn’t keep track of the group properly, and the elderly gentleman got lost. It’s a tour guide’s job to keep the group together.

UPDATE: Yes you did wander off with Olivia. I dont know if she is your friend or not, but you did wander off for 20 minutes. I have proof of this through WhatsApp with the conversation i was having with Sharon. Also, I am a she, not a he. Furthermore, you treated Sharon like trash, and when she called you out on it, you got angry. Finally, how come you are not addressing the discount we gave you in good faith, and then your audacity of asking for a "partial refund" is that a lie too? I love my job but hey, sometimes we get horrible people like you. -Mena Kriti, Let's start from the point that the description of the tour could not be clearer: All of the items featured and listed in the tour description were delivered except the torta (we will get to that later) The tour is an all-you-can-eat experience and as such, we encourage you to share because if you have full portions, you wont make it past the second stop. During your welcome meeting (where we go over some examples of the foods we will have) you are also told that if at any point you want more food, you are free to ask for more. Why you didnt ask for more food is beyond me, but the option has always been there and it is something we are very vocal about. The tour was fulfilled as it should have been, and you visited all the spots listed except the torta. Why? Because you and your friend Olivia decided you guys didnt want to get your hair wet and disappeared from the group for 20 MINUTES. Sharon was worried and the rest of the group, frankly annoyed. When you decided to come back, you did not offer an apology or an explanation, you just simply bossed Sharon around like she was your maid, to which she told you she had to fulfill a schedule and because of your delay, you probably would not make it to the torta stand. This is completely on you. Furthermore, Sharon is an extremely patient person and it was you and Olivia who really made her angry due to your entitlement and disrespect to the rest of the group. She even called me to ask what to do, because the tension in the group was such that the family you speak about was super annoyed because of your behavior and Olivia's, not Sharon's. We never "made you" do anything. Like I mentioned above, we always encourage you to share food because of the sheer amount of stops we have. Our reviews and comments always highlight how full and diverse our route is and, if what you said was true, we would have HEAPS of people complaining about how they did not get their money's worth (which we don't) Finally, you seem to forget that you got a discount at the time of booking, out of good faith, because we previously had to cancel one of your tours due to circumstances out of our control. I, Mena, gave you this discount to show you appreciation and out of good will, but you seem to forget that tiny little detail. When you contacted me for a partial refund, I did not mock you--- I called you out for being an incredibly abusive person. Our small business gives you a discount, you take part of a tour in its entirety, you delay the group out of sheer vanity, making them (and you) miss the torta spot and you still have the AUDACITY of asking for a partial refund? No. Absolutely no. We provide a professional, friendly and expert service but we will never, ever let ourselves be bullied, blackmailed or abused by advantageous people like you. I must admit I was looking forward to you leaving a bad review so I could reply publicly, allowing our future customers can see who is the type of people who would leave such a review and why this is the ONLY 1 star review we have since we started. -Mena

I participated in the street food tour and the market tour. I especially enjoyed the street food tour! Sharon took me to small stalls and shops that I normally wouldn't have tried myself and told me about the history of the local neighborhoods we were moving through. I really appreciated her keeping me hydrated and her useful tips like where the restrooms were. The market tour had more history, murals and monuments and it was cool to learn how make a roasted salsa!

I had a lovely time with Cristina and the other participants in the tour. I not only appreciate the delicious food (of which there was a lot!) but also the commentary and the walking through different neighborhoods. I'm so happy I was able to book this activity!

It was just us on the tour this day. Sharon and Christina gave us a full tour, with way more food than we could eat. The experience was wonderful. We learned a lot and had a great time.

Thank you, Sharon and the Travelling Herbivore for a wonderful vegan food tour in Mexico City. I loved that the tour was focused on visiting local street vendors and family-run restaurants over larger establishments. The food was delicious, plentiful and the variety was great - including various vegan meat tacos, agua fresca, fresh fruit, tortas, churros and more! The other tour participants and everyone we met along the way were very nice and friendly. I would highly recommend this tour - vegan or not. Great experience.

I have traveled with her yesterday and the experience was amazing, we got to eat real tasty vegan food, as a mexican I can tell the flavours of the substitutes of meat are almost the same as the animal meat. Also mena the tour guide was amazing and very friendly, the tour gives you a little of Mexico's history and you end up very satisfied.

We had a fulfilling travel tour with Sharon! Walked through the different neighborhoods in downtown Mexico City, discovered some amazing vegetarian and vegan tacos. The vegan Chicharrón and exotic mushrooms were definitely the highlight. The tour was about 4.5 hours and we were absolutely amazed with the food, local people and the views of the city. Would recommend the food tour to anyone looking to explore vegetation Mexican food in CDMX.
