Our Perhentian Marine Research Station focuses on marine conservation and waste management. The work that the volunteers would be doing would be according to their dive skills. Volunteers will focus on 'Conservation in Action’, which will include reef cleans, ‘diving against debris’, fish surveys, coral reef surveys and maintaining our coral nursery. 

You will also be involved in the waste management part of the project whereby you would be aiding the team at their education booth at Long Beach to educate both locals and tourists alike how to better manage their waste and even working with our Precious Plastic machine which we use for educational purposes to show the locals and groups that come to join us what we can make from plastic wastes. Volunteers will also be involved in beach cleanups every week with our other sister projects on the island.

If you are a qualified diver, you may volunteer for a minimum of 1 week. However, if you do not have a diving license, you may take a dive license before joining us OR take your diving license when volunteering with us. You will then have to volunteer for a minimum of 2 weeks as your first week would be your diving course week and in the 2nd week, you will be joining the rest of the team.
