Trip Details

Lassen Volcanic National Park is a rugged volcanic landscape in northern California where steaming fumaroles, bubbling mud pots, clear alpine lakes, and forested mountains surround the massive Lassen Peak. It’s one of the few places on Earth where you can see all four main types of volcanoes: shield, composite, cinder cone, and plug dome within a single park, along with trails that wind through lava fields, wildflower meadows, and snowy peaks.

What to Expect

On this trip, you can expect to connect with other outdoors-loving women while enjoying gourmet camp meals, learning Leave No Trace principles, spending meaningful time in nature, taking on a challenging hike, and exploring wellness practices like yoga and forest bathing.

Our Food

We’re passionate about great food and strive to bring a gourmet touch to our trips! Our meals focus on organic, locally sourced produce, with very limited packaged items and no unnecessary preservatives. Most dietary needs can be accommodated (gluten-free and vegan included). We prioritize bold, satisfying flavors, women’s health–focused nourishment, and protein-rich meals that fuel both adventure and enjoyment. Outside of meal time, we provide a variety of fruits and snacks to keep you going throughout the day. You won't go hungry!

Itinerary:

Day 1 – Arrival, Welcome & Hike
We’ll gather at our campsite at Manzanita Lake in the afternoon. Once everyone has arrived and has set up their tents, we’ll ease into the weekend with appetizers and dinner. As the evening unfolds, we’ll enjoy a light hike near Manzanita Lake followed by tea and dessert around the campfire soaking in the night sky.

Day 2 – Hiking & Nature Time

We’ll wake to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee in camp (if you drink tea, we got you). After a relaxed morning stretch, we’ll prepare for our day hike: fill water bottles, distribute snacks, and review weather and trails. We'll hop in our cars and drive up the road to the Bumpass Hell trailhead. This is one of our favorites! The hike will be followed by a picnic lunch and free time to enjoy the visitor center, bookstore, camp store or Manzanita Lake. Back in camp we'll have time to relax and rest, and have our optional yoga stretch and forest bathing in our campsite. In the evening, we’ll enjoy appetizers, dinner and repeat our cozy nighttime rituals under the stars.

Day 3 – Morning Hike & Farewell
We’ll repeat our morning time rituals before packing up camp, jumping in our cars and heading to the trailhead for Lassen Peak. Lassen Peak has some incredible views from the top! Afterwards, we'll grab snacks for the road, say our goodbyes and head home refreshed and grounded.

Making a Difference

We're proud to donate 10% of proceeds from this retreat to Girl Ventures, a nonprofit that helps girls and gender-expansive youth build confidence, leadership skills, and resilience through outdoor adventure programs. They run activities like rock climbing, backpacking, and wilderness expeditions where participants learn teamwork, problem-solving, and self-advocacy. The organization focuses especially on serving youth from diverse backgrounds who may have fewer opportunities to access outdoor leadership experiences. Their programs combine physical challenges with workshops and reflection to help participants grow both personally and as leaders.
