Day 1

Arrival in San José & Welcome to Casa Alma

Arrive in San José, Costa Rica, where airport pickup is included. Settle into Casa Alma, your home base, and ease into the rhythm of travel.

In the evening, head out for a welcome dinner with the group—the perfect way to connect, share first impressions, and begin your journey together.

Cartago, Coffee & Hot Springs

Start your day by easing into the pura vida lifestyle with a visit to Cartago, the country’s historic former capital.

From there, continue to Hacienda Orosi Coffee Farm to learn about Costa Rica’s rich coffee culture before unwinding in nearby hot springs. Soak in the natural mineral waters, relax, and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Journey to the South Pacific – Uvita & Bahía Ballena

Travel south along the coast toward Uvita, home to the stunning Bahía Ballena.

Along the way, stop for lunch at a scenic beach before arriving and settling in. In the afternoon, take a relaxed walk along the sand before gathering for dinner together.

Whale Watching & Arrival to Golfo Dulce

Start your day with a whale-watching excursion (hopefully you'll see humpback whales, and even mothers with calves, as these waters are a well-known breeding ground!). After some free time for lunch, continue your journey south to a beach on Golfo Dulce, a secluded and tranquil coastal community. Settle into your beachfront accommodation, where you'll spend the next few nights, and enjoy dinner together.

Mangroves & Coastal Living

Wake up in your own slice of paradise. Today, explore the surrounding mangroves by kayak, gliding through calm waters and keeping an eye out for birds and wildlife.

Enjoy fresh, local cuisine and a slower pace of life before turning in early for the next day’s big adventure.

Corcovado National Park Expedition

Today is a highlight of the journey: a full-day exploration of Corcovado National Park, one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.

Travel by boat into the park, then hike with an expert guide in search of wildlife—monkeys, tapirs, scarlet macaws, and more. After an incredible day, enjoy a late celebratory lunch before returning to your beachfront home.

Puerto Jiménez & BioSur Conservation

Visit Puerto Jiménez and spend time with the BioSur Foundation, learning about local conservation efforts and community initiatives.

Enjoy lunch by the water and take time to explore the town before heading back.

Day 8

Day 8 image

Sea Turtle Conservation & Farewell Dinner

Today, visit a sea turtle conservation project with the Corcovado Foundation. Travel by 4x4 to a remote coastal area, learn about the conservation work being done, and participate in a beach cleanup. Return to our lodge for your last night together and a special farewell dinner by the sea.

Waterfalls & Return to San José

After an early breakfast, begin the journey north with a stop in Dominical to visit the breathtaking Nauyaca Waterfalls.

Swim, relax, and enjoy a picnic surrounded by lush jungle before continuing back toward San José. Along the way, stop for one last sunset dinner together before returning to Casa Alma for the night.

Departure Day

Enjoy a final breakfast at Casa Alma before heading to the airport for your departure.

(Airport transportation on departure day is not included, but we’re happy to help arrange it.)
