QUITO - WHERE THE JOURNEY BEGINS

This isn't just a journey from Quito to Cuenca. It's a journey through some of the most dramatic landscapes, cultures and contrasts Ecuador can fit into one small country.

Starting high in the Andes in Quito, we'll travel south through the legendary Avenue of Volcanoes, standing beneath the snow-capped slopes of Cotopaxi before venturing deeper into the mountains to the turquoise crater lake of Quilotoa. From there, the landscape begins to transform as we descend toward Baños, where waterfalls tumble through lush green valleys at the gateway between the Andes and the Amazon.

But the journey doesn't stop with the scenery.

Continuing south, we'll follow roads that have connected Andean communities for centuries, encounter the history of the Cañari and Inca civilizations at Ingapirca, and watch the rhythms, food, traditions and landscapes of Ecuador subtly change along the way.

Finally, we arrive in Cuenca, a UNESCO World Heritage city of cobbled streets, colourful markets, blue-domed churches and riverside neighbourhoods made for exploring at a slower pace.

Over 5 days, you'll experience volcanoes, crater lakes, waterfalls, high-altitude landscapes, ancient history, local communities and two of Ecuador's most beautiful cities.

One road. And a very different Ecuador around almost every corner.
