The itinerary was great. We hit all the bucket-list pyramids, temples, and tombs. But the additional surprises were what made the trip so special: the boat trip on the Nile with its birds, the Nubian Village, the rug weavers, essential oils, the "authentic" lunches, old Cairo, and the alabaster carvers all gave us connections from ancient Egypt to the present-day life. Yasser was very knowledgeable, about ancient Egypt and mythology of course, that was expected. But it was his special touches that brought the trip alive: the special meals with his family, his discussions about muslim life, the politics around water. Both of you were kind and empathetic in your depiction of this wonderful country. The villa was great and, again, gave us a peek into Cairo life. You, Annie, were quieter than I expected, but I know that you had everything to do with our itinerary behind the scenes. And we appreciated that. My only suggestion would be, for future trips, to try to change the schedule so that you can spend a full day at the Grand Museum. Lunch at the museum won't be all that bad, even though it won't be authentic. Thank you for the trip of a lifetime!!
