Our four days with Quechua Expeditions on the Salkantay Trek were simply unforgettable! Under the guidance of Fernando, we explored breathtaking landscapes and experienced some of the most beautiful places in the Andes. From the majestic Salkantay Trail to the ruins of Llactapata, each stage was a new discovery. The support from Fernando, Chef Julian, and Horse Master Angél was outstanding and contributed significantly to our well-being. Although the adventure wasn't cheap, every minute and every altitude meter was worth the price. We highly recommend Quechua Expeditions and extend our heartfelt thanks to Fernando and the team for this unforgettable experience.

Beutiful views, good accomodation, nice beople very helpful during the trek, guide did great job at Machu Picchu, small group but… -plenty of people -food was just ok comparing to oder trips we had, breakfast was without any proteins -there was no water included -we had to pay extra for shower at 2nd night - but for almost 1h there was noone to pay so we had to wait dirty after whole day of walking -there was weird situation about the tips (we felt like the amount was set and we have to pay it)

The hike was beautiful, the company was not. There were several miscommunications, starting with the confirmation. The operator, Quechua Expeditions, obviously had not idea what was going on. We paid for sleeping bags and were told the night before our trip that we did not need them. We were also told that the morning of our trip we should eat light at the hotel, because we would have breaks and hour or two after we were picked up, then eat lunch before we started our hike. None of that happened and we did not eat “lunch” until we arrived at the first camp, which was about 4:30pm (a 4.5 hour hike). I was also asked 4 times before the trip started if I was vegetarian. I said yes each time, at no point on the hike was I offered a meal without meat. On the last day, after starting our hike at 4am and walking for 8 hours we were told that lunch was not included. We said that we thought it was and had to wait until it was “checked out”. In addition to all of what I outlined above, there was no information given as to what to expect, bring, or prepare for the hike. We arrived in Cusco without the proper items. As far as I am concerned, this operator was incompetent and should not be scheduling hikes. The only good thing about out trip was the guide and seeing something beautiful.

I did the 4 day shortened trek on the Salkantay route. And guides (Henry and then Nildo) were nothing short of INCREDIBLE - my heroes! All of the other staff (cooks, porters, office, dome caretakers) were fantastic as well. Food was delicious; it’s really amazing what they can do considering they have to carry all ingredients and fuel up into the mountains. In particular, the guides were kind, patient, super experienced, and really went above and beyond to support the group, especially when I was struggling with the hiking due to altitude. They always encouraged me. My only bit of feedback is that some of the pre-trip communication from the company ended up changing without notice or lacked detail; there was not a major impact for me personally but I would recommend asking lots of detailed questions in advance if you’re someone who really wants to know what to expect in every aspect.

Excellent, this trip is super for experienced hikers! Our guide Elisban "Puma" was great. He got us (I am 52 and my daughter is 14) with coca tea and other pratical help over the 4,200m and 4,000m passes :-) A big thank you also to the porters who are the real heroes of the inka trail. So this tour is highly recommended and is from our point of view better than the 4 day tour. Thank you again for this unforgettable experience, Nikolas & Theresa
