We went for the 2d/1n tour with Quechuas expeditions to Machu Picchu by bus. Overall is was an nice tour, but not everything went really as expected. Communication directly with Quechuas went without a lot of problems; before the trip about the remaining payment (little miscommunication/understanding about when and where to finalize), responding trough WhatsApp, helping finding solution when our train back to Hidroelectrica was canceld and we would miss our bus for Hidroelectrica to Cusco. On the other hand; communication with there 'partners' was very different. For example: in the van after pickup in Cusco, we were told we would get a message around 5pm. This would be when we arrived in Agua Calientes after the hike (without a guide) from Hidroelectrica to Agua Calientes with more information about the hostel etc. We arrived before 5pm, but no messages. We were tired, wanted to check in and leave our stuff so we could visite the hot springs. Eventually (around 6:45pm and after a lot of texting with Quechuas) got in touch with right person... After some (mis)communication, finally went to the hostel (around 7:30pm). Honestly it felt like they forgot us/ forgot to book a hostel. The hostel was ok for 1 night, but very loud and next to the train. Sadly due to this, we couldnt visite the hot springs anymore. Got in touch with (another) local guide for Machu Picchu, gave some information and we were told where to go the next morning for the meetingpoint. At the meeting point, we had another local guide (Noé, he was great by the way!), also asking about the tickets for Machu Picchu. We didn't hear or recieved anything regarding the tickets, so he got in touch with the other guide who sended them to him with a entry for MP at 6am, while we were still in Aqua Calientes at 6am and had to arrange the bustickets. We got on the 6am bus, thanks to Noé for his help (and the bus was a little bit late). At Machu Picchu we had to wait for the rest of the group. Thanks again to Noé that he made sure we could enter with the rest of the group around 7am. Ofcourse Machu Picchu was great and for us Noé really saved the day with his optimisme and knowledge. And also, again, thanks to Quechuas Expeditions for there help to get us back to Cusco (without extra charges) after the train to Hidroelectrica got canceld!

We had an amazing experience on our 5-day Salkantay Trek! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, the food was fantastic (especially considering we were in the middle of the mountains, shoutout Rober!), and our guide, Reynaldo, was incredible — knowledgeable, kind, and made sure everyone in the group felt supported and included (even with differences in language). The whole team was so warm and hardworking, which really made the trip special. The only downside was the lack of communication from Quechua Expeditions before the trip. It was sometimes difficult to get responses or clear information ahead of time, which made parts of the planning a bit stressful. Once we were actually on the trek, though, everything ran smoothly and we had a great time overall. Would definitely recommend the experience — just be prepared for some patience with pre-trip communication!

On the webpage it claims to be a group with maximum 16 people, but it turns out to have like 30 people in a big bus on the first day. The bus was dirty with chewing gum sticked on the wall. The second day of the tour was totally a disaster. We were told that the driver only took us from Nazca to Ica. After that we have to transferred to the bus station and took the bus ourselves! If we had to transport by ourselves, then we wouldn’t have to assign a “guided tour”. Overall, this tour is not recommended. Please look for other agencies with more trustworthy service.
