About this trip

Join Joan Hyman and guest teacher, Anna Zorzou, with the international community of The School of Yoga for an immersive 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Porto Delfino in Kythera, Greece.

Just a leisurely 10-minute walk from the beach, cafés, and restaurants of Kapsali, the retreat offers the perfect setting to step away from everyday life and fully immerse yourself in your practice and studies.

The beautiful, fully equipped yoga shala overlooks the Aegean, while spacious accommodations offer private terraces and plenty of space to rest and recharge.

Getting to Kythera:

Although Kythira feels wonderfully secluded, reaching the island is straightforward with a little advance planning.

By Air

Kythira Island National Airport "Alexandros Aristotelous Onassis" (KIT)

● Approximately 35 minutes from Porto Delfino

● Approximately 50-minute flight from Athens International Airport (ATH)

Flights are operated by:

● Sky Express – https://www.skyexpress.gr

● Aegean Airlines / Olympic Air – https://www.aegeanair.com

Because flight schedules vary throughout the year and seat availability can become

limited—particularly when coordinating international flights—we strongly recommend booking domestic flights as early as possible.

By Ferry

Guests may also travel by ferry from:

Piraeus Port (Athens) → Kythira

● Approximately 6–7 hours, depending on the season and sailing schedule.

Ferry schedules and reservations:

Seajets – https://www.seajets.com

Early booking is recommended, particularly for retreat groups.

Driving to Kythira

Many guests choose to combine a scenic road trip through the Peloponnese with the ferry

crossing.

The most popular route is:

Athens → Neapoli (Peloponnese)

● Approximately 4.5–5 hours by car

From Neapoli, a local ferry reaches Kythira in approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, making it an excellent option for guests wishing to travel with their own vehicle.

Airport & Ferry Transfers

The Porto Delfino team coordinates all airport and ferry transfers for retreat groups, ensuring a

smooth and stress-free arrival and departure experience for every guest.

More about Anna Zorzou:

Anna Zorzou is an international yoga teacher and senior teacher trainer based in Athens, Greece, with more than 25 years of experience teaching yoga, movement, and mindfulness. A lifelong student, Anna brings together intelligent movement, precise yet accessible instruction, breath awareness, and a genuine curiosity for each student’s individual experience. Originally from Greece, her journey into yoga began after years as a competitive athlete and a basketball scholarship at the University of the Pacific in California, where injuries eventually led her from the basketball court to the yoga mat. Her early practice was deeply rooted in Ashtanga Yoga, studying with Chuck Miller and Maty Ezraty, and later shaped by her years within the YogaWorks community and the influence of teachers such as Annie Carpenter.

For more than two decades, Anna has been dedicated to yoga teacher education in Greece and internationally, educating and mentoring teachers while helping them develop technical knowledge, clarity, confidence, curiosity, and an authentic teaching voice. Her work extends beyond the studio into professional athletics, corporate wellbeing, retreats, and immersive experiences. Through continued study across different traditions and modalities, her teaching has evolved beyond any single method while remaining grounded in the discipline, intelligence, and depth of her early training. Whether working with teachers, athletes, executives, or longtime practitioners, Anna’s intention remains the same: to make yoga intelligent, relevant, accessible, and deeply connected to the way we move through life.
