Day Tour from Munich to Andechs Brewery and Monastery (Sunday, Sept. 28th/2025): Roughly a one hour bus ride south of Munich,  this tour will include bus and boat transportation, tour guide, beer tasting and dinner with some history of the Brewery and Monastery included. Here is some info:  “Here in Bavaria, beer is not merely an indulgence, it is food. It is made from grain, yeast and water, just like bread.” The Andechs Benedictine Willibald Mathäser (1901-1985) defined the importance of beer with those succinct words.  For Andechs, this connection is as old as the Benedictine Monastery on the Holy Mountain – more than 560 years. Did beer serve as a staple for the monks? To a certain degree surely yes, although the nutritional value of beer at the time likely had little in common with today’s varieties. However, it mainly served as refreshment and nourishment for the pilgrims that come to Andechs, Bavaria’s oldest pilgrimage site, to this day.  (If you don't drink beer but love history, this tour is still incredible and there will be different options to drink and taste).

MUNICH OPTION 1:  Munich Old Town 5-Course Italian Dinner (Saturday, Sept. 27th/2025):  Enjoy a break from sausages, dumplings and beer and enjoy some fine red wine,  home cooked Italian courses in a friendly and cozy atmosphere in Munich Old Town.   With a pre-set menu, the only decision you will need to make is whether you want beef or fish for the main course.  Other than that, sit back, relax and let the competent and friendly staff take care of you.   Allergies and Food Restrictions will be accommodated.  We may have multiple sittings depending on registration. Limited Space. 

MUNICH OPTION 2:  Oldtimers Ice Hockey Friendly Games against Local German Teams:

Our Oldtimers Hockey portion will still be available but only as an Add-On Tour with exhibition games (no tournament).  Space may be limited due to Ice and Team availability.  You can indicate your team name or if you are an individual player on the booking form.  if any other add-on tour conflicts with your games,  those add-ons will be refunded to you.

HOTELS:  During the 3 weeks of Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany, there is a premium on hotel room prices and availability is scarce similar to any large global event around the world.   We have secured excellent hotel rooms that are within walking distance to Marienplatz and the Hofbrauhaus/Hard Rock Cafe area with the Oktoberfest grounds only a short bus ride away.

BED CONFIGURATIONS:  Hotel rooms in Germany have different bedding configurations than in North America.  Most rooms only have one double bed.   Some rooms have a double bed and a sofa bed or two twin beds but many times these configurations require a room upgrade at additional cost.  Single room will have one double bed,  Standard double room will guarantee one double bed only,  Upgraded double room will guarantee two bed options, either with two twins or a double and sofa bed.  You can choose your option during the booking process.

Thursday, September 26th/2025--Varied overnight flights from Canada to Munich.

Friday, September 26th/2025--Arrive at Munich Airport,  met by bus and coordinator, transfer to hotel and check in.  Free night on your own.

Saturday, Sept. 27th, 2025--Munich City Tour in the morning, free afternoon and Optional 4-course Italian dinner in Old Town Munich.

Sunday, September 28th/2025--Optional day trip to Andechs Monastery and Brewery or visit Oktoberfest on your own.    

Monday, Sept. 29th/2025--Group Lunch and Party from 1200-400 PM at Oktoberfest Tent.  Visit other tents on your own afterwards.

Tuesday, Sept. 30th, 2025--Second group reservation at a different Oktoberfest tent from 1200-400 pm.   Free time to visit other tents on your own afterwards.
