This 3 day package tour, organized and managed by 100% local Luang Prabang people, will take you to all the best destinations and activities in Luang Prabang, and make your Luang Prabang trip unforgettable and comfortable as possible.

Morning

We will explore the culture and history of Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in the morning. Pickup at 8:30 am from your accommodation. We are transferred to the center of the former royal capital. We visit the main highlight of the city.

• Royal Palace Museum

The oldThe Royal Palace, which is today the national museum and built by French colonialists between 1904-09, displays a lovely collection of the artefacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture. (Entrance fee 30,000 kip)

• Wat Mai

built in 1788, known for its glorious bas-relief work, golden stencilling of its sim (assembly hall), and for the ritual cleansing of the Phra Bang during Lao New Year. (Entrance fee 10,000 kip)

• Wat Wisunarat

The oldest Buddhist temple dating to the 16th century, known for its large, watermelon-domed stupa.(Entrance fee 20,000 kip) 

• Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre 

The Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre (TAEC) has been a private non-profit making museum devoted to the different ethnic groups in Laos, exhibits items of ethnic clothing, religious artefacts, working tools. Its intention is to increase understanding of the different ways of life and the traditions of different ethnic groups in Laos. (25,000 kip, closed Mondays) 

Afternoon

At around noon, we take a car and go to Manifa Elephant Camp.  We have a buffet lunch at the restaurant overlooking the Mekong river surrounded by the tropical forests. Pickup at 8:00, we drive to Ban Phong Van about 5 km outside Luang Prabang, among lush rice fields and overlooked by wooded hills and mountains to join in a Living Rice Farm where they grow organic vegetables, salads, herbs and rice and supply leading restaurants and hotels in Luang Prabang. Coming here you will be shown how rice is grown on the farm, experience the life of a farmer and try your hand at some of the activities. Or just view it all from the comfort of our traditional Lao rice house balcony, which is surrounded by rice terraces and our organic vegetable farm. All the family can join in and there are great photo opportunities. After experience in the farm, we enjoy Lao specialty lunch in separate area overlooking their rice fields. We taste typical Lao dishes.

At about 2:00 pm, this adventure destination package takes you to Kuang Si Waterfall – you will have time to explore the three layered Kuang Si Waterfall walk the trails of the nature reserve and swim in the refreshing turquoise water pools and visit the bear rescue center.

Our way back into Luang Prabang we make a stop at Ban Na Uan hmong village where you have the chance to experience Hmong village life, meet some of the local people and see the makings of their traditional embroidery crafts. From here it is time to make our way into town, typically this is between 5:30pm – 6:00pm – drop off location is at the post office on the main street, near the night market or at your accommodation by prior arrangement or on request
