Spend a focused, welcoming week learning Spanish in Nosara, Costa Rica. This program is designed for adults at every level, from A1 to C2, and combines practical communication with the relaxed rhythm of Playa Guiones in the Nicoya Peninsula Blue Zone. You’ll learn in a supportive small-group setting and use Spanish in real situations from the moment you arrive.

WHAT 20 HOURS MEANS

Your program includes 20 hours of small-group Spanish instruction from Monday through Friday. We place you by level using a placement test and a short oral assessment on the first Monday, so your lessons are relevant and comfortable.

The 20-hour program is most often scheduled from 8:00–11:40 a.m. or 1:00–4:40 p.m. This still leaves plenty of time for surfing, yoga, remote work, or exploring Nosara.

Between classes, explore Nosara’s beaches, wellness, wildlife and local life at your own pace. Add a surf or yoga experience to your reservation, or simply enjoy time to practice Spanish around town.

We’ll email you with the next steps, including our placement process and an arrival form to help us prepare for your stay. Before classes begin, we’ll confirm your Spanish level and provide your class schedule.

Your classes take place at Nosara Spanish Institute, where communicative learning, small groups, and everyday immersion meet the relaxed rhythm of the Blue Zone.

Class schedule: 20-hour small-group classes (max 6, usually 34) meet Monday–Friday at 8:00–11:40am or 1:00–4:40pm. You’re placed by level—we can’t confirm a specific group time slot ahead of time because levels change each week, but tell us your preference and we’ll do our best. Need a set time locked in advance? Ask us about private classes.

A simple rhythm for immersion: learn with your group during the week, then enjoy Nosara at your own pace on the weekend. No tours or activities are included unless selected separately.

During the week we often offer optional activities like cooking classes, salsa, turtle tours, and language exchanges—some free, others a small fee. Weekends are yours. Want to get out? Ask us—we can help arrange local adventures when youre ready (ziplining, horseback, fishing, and the quiet stuff in between).
