I learned so much in my week at Nosara Spanish Institute! Alvaro is an amazing teacher who really helped me to advance my Spanish grammar, learn new vocabulary, and understand the areas I need to work on to improve my fluency. It was well worth my time and money to do the week intensive and I am definitely considering coming back. And it was fun! The two hours flew by every day and there was a lot of laughing along with learning! And Nosara is such a beautiful place with lots of outdoor/ocean activities that can't be beat.

I travelled with my two teenage daughters. Our experience at the Spanish Institute was absolutely exceptional. From the very beginning, Brock, the founder, went above and beyond to make everything seamless and stress-free. He was incredibly helpful with every detail—from arranging our airport transportation to booking tours. The tours were great, and I highly recommend. The lessons themselves were outstanding. Alexa, our teacher, was phenomenal—engaging, patient, and incredibly skilled at making learning both fun and effective. She created such a supportive environment, and we felt our Spanish improve every single day. This was more than just a language program—it was a memorable, enriching experience. We can’t wait to come back!

2week group class I had Prof Alejandro for the 2 weeks . He is a very patient and wonderful teacher, full of fun and cultural stories. Since it was the week before Semana Santa , it was a slow time, and I only had another classmate. The first week we reviewed the futuro and subjuntivo tenses. We worked on reading and writing and conversation. The second week was the best for me, since we worked on reading, and conversation about Costa Rica culture , birds and animals. Everything was great fun with a field trip to explore Nosará and NSC Sendoros Big shoutouts to Broc, Catheryn and Alexa who went above and beyond to make my stay at the Hacienda and Nosara, very comfortable.. I had an amazing experience studying Spanish in Nosara, Costa Rica. I spent 6 weeks at the language school, and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. The teachers were fantastic—they really know what they're doing, and they make learning fun and relaxed. Their teaching style helped me improve my Spanish much faster than I expected, and they were always patient, supportive, and genuinely interested in helping students succeed. My host family was equally wonderful. They made me feel welcome from day one and treated me like part of the family. Living with them gave me the opportunity to practice Spanish every day and experience Costa Rican culture in an authentic way. I couldn't have asked for a better homestay experience. Nosara itself is an incredible place with so much to do. Whether you enjoy surfing, beautiful beaches, nature, wildlife, yoga, or simply relaxing and enjoying the local atmosphere, there's something for everyone. The town has a great vibe, and I always felt safe and comfortable during my stay. I would absolutely recommend this school to anyone thinking about learning Spanish in Costa Rica. The combination of excellent teachers, a welcoming host family, and the amazing location makes it completely worth it. My 6 weeks flew by, and I would love to come back in the future. Nosara has some downsides as a location, but aside from that, I am completely happy with my trip and the school. The teachers were great, and everything was well organized. The homestay and student housing were awesome, even though the beach was kind of far away.
