Join the expert guides at Go Wild on a tailor-made, all-inclusive backcountry trip into the wilds of Eastern Oregon. On this 4 night / 5 day excursion into Oregon's largest wilderness, dine on hyper-local gourmet meals, sip on craft signature cocktails, put your feet up in a hammock, and try your hand at one of many custom activities: fly fishing, hatchet throwing, foraging lessons, star gazing, packrafting, and more.
Mules carry 30lbs of personal gear per person into our deluxe wilderness basecamp as you and a group of adventurers hike alongside our professional naturalist guides. Daily hike distances range from 3-6 miles (5-10km) and up to 1500' (457m) elevation gain. During days 2, 3, and 4, enjoy day hikes to surrounding scenic alpine lakes and vistas, or choose to stay at camp and enjoy the serenity of the untouched wild. Unique to this trip, we will also include the option to hike and camp at a separate location on night 3.
Meet at our favorite local brewpub in La Grande, OR to talk logistics and get to know each other over beverages and dinner. Go Wild hosts everyone's first beverage. Dinner on your own. Contact us for discounts at local hotels.
On the day of departure, your guides will meet you at your La Grande accommodation for complimentary pick up in Sully, our adventure van. After a ~1 hour drive to the trailhead, meet our expert mule packer who packs in your personal gear, 30lbs / person. Step into the wilderness and leave the hustle of the city behind.
At camp, your professional local guides turn into expert fun facilitators and chefs, serving hand crafted appetizers, cocktails, and gourmet campfire cooked meals, all sourced from hyper local ingredients.
During the day, explore nearby lakes on guided hikes, try your hand at fly fishing, forage for wild edible plants, or relax at camp. It's up to you. Your guides will have planned activities every day.
After your last delicious camp meal and bottomless coffee, pack up your gear to leave at camp for our mule packer to carry out for you. While it's tempting to put your head down and hustle (like a horse to the barn), even your last day is a chance to deepen your experience in the wild and enjoy the stroll back to civilization.
Typically, groups reach the trailhead between 1-4PM, please plan flights & travel plans accordingly.
Before your final departure, be sure to pick up custom Go Wild gifts, from packrafts to hand made leather work to local art prints of your location.
