This is not a week of learning how to play singing bowls.
It is an immersive 50-hour practitioner training for the person who wants to understand why sound affects the body, how to work with it responsibly, and how to confidently create experiences of their own.
Across seven days in the Costa Rican jungle, you will study the science, energetics, instruments, facilitation, ethics, nervous system, space-holding, and business of sound — while actually practicing what you learn.
You will leave with:
• 50-Hour Sound Practitioner Certification through The Embodied Warrior School of Sound
• 50 Continuing Education Hours for Yoga Alliance
• Practical experience facilitating sound
• A repeatable framework for creating your own sound experiences
• Greater confidence working with instruments, voice, frequency and silence
• Nervous-system literacy that changes the way you hold space
• Ethical and professional foundations for integrating sound into your existing work
• The tools to begin offering sound professionally after certification
• A community of practitioners who continue beyond Costa Rica
You're coming home knowing what to do with it.
You do not need to already identify as a “sound healer.”
Many of the people who enter this training are already holding space in another capacity — and sound becomes the next layer of their work.
Massage Therapist or Bodyworker
You love helping people, but you also understand the physical demands of a hands-on career. Sound can become another modality through which you support regulation, rest, embodiment and client experience — without every offering requiring your hands.
Yoga Teacher or Movement Professional
You want to go beyond adding a singing bowl to savasana and understand how to intentionally build sound into classes, workshops, retreats and stand-alone experiences.
Coach, Therapist or Wellness Professional
You want a deeper understanding of nervous-system regulation, sound, co-regulation, environment and space-holding — while remaining clear about ethics and scope of practice.
Future Practitioner
You may not work in wellness yet.
You simply keep coming back to sound.
You're ready to learn properly rather than piecing together information from Instagram, YouTube and instrument workshops.
Retreat or Community Space Holder
You want another tool for facilitating meaningful group experiences — and the confidence to know when, why and how to use it.
Sound healing has become increasingly accessible.
Quality practitioner education has not always kept pace.
Knowing how to strike a bowl is not the same thing as understanding:
• nervous-system responses
• stimulation versus regulation
• frequency, resonance and entrainment
• sequencing
• contraindications
• consent
• group dynamics
• trauma-aware facilitation
• energetic boundaries
• vocal work
• silence
• scope of practice
• how to respond when emotion arises
• how to build an experience intentionally rather than intuitively guessing your way through it
That is why this program bridges science + energetics + embodied practice.
You will learn the why underneath the tools so that your intuition has a strong foundation underneath it.
Explore sound through neuroscience, physiology, psychology and physics so you can understand what may be happening in the body rather than relying solely on energetic language.
Learn why the state of the facilitator matters, how sound interacts with arousal and regulation, and why “relaxing” is not always synonymous with therapeutic.
Develop hands-on familiarity with sound healing instruments, playing methods, layering, volume, pacing, sequencing and intentional use.
Explore your voice as an instrument and learn ways vocal sound can be incorporated into personal and group practice.
Explore energetic frameworks, chakra-based practices, cleansing techniques and intuitive listening while learning to distinguish energetic frameworks from scientific claims.
Learn how to build a cohesive sound bath from opening through integration rather than simply moving from instrument to instrument.
Learn consent, professional boundaries, scope of practice, group dynamics and how to respond skillfully when participants have emotional or physiological experiences.
Explore pricing, positioning, creating offers, building collaborations and integrating sound into an existing wellness business or creating something new.
Once your deposit is submitted, you'll receive access to The Embodied Warrior's 10-Hour Fundamentals of Sound + Self-Healing course.
It is included in your tuition and serves as your prerequisite.
That means our time in Costa Rica does not need to begin at square one.
You arrive with shared foundational knowledge so we can spend the immersion actually practicing, integrating and going deeper.
Serious education does not require seven days under fluorescent lights.
You'll train at Synergy Retreat Center in Uvita, Costa Rica, surrounded by jungle, wildlife and the Pacific coast.
Your tuition includes:
• Seven-day luxury retreat accommodation
• Three chef-prepared meals daily
• Snacks, coffee, tea, smoothies and fresh fruit
• Group roundtrip transportation between SJO Airport and Synergy
• Beach and waterfall experiences
• Sauna + cold plunge recovery
• One 60-minute massage/bodywork session
• Daily opportunities for movement, reflection and integration
• Your 10-hour prerequisite course
• 50-hour practitioner certification
• 50 Yoga Alliance continuing education hours
• Three months of Business of Sound email education following the training
You are receiving professional education and the space to actually embody it.
This training is especially powerful for massage therapists and bodyworkers who want to expand their work without asking their body to produce every dollar through hands-on sessions.
For the October cohort, three partial tuition-exchange positions are being reserved specifically for qualified massage therapists.
Selected practitioners participate fully in the training while supporting our retreat community with a limited number of massage/bodywork sessions during the week.
• Full participation in the 50-hour certification
• All standard training and retreat inclusions
• A reduced tuition investment in exchange for your professional services
• The opportunity to explore how sound can complement your existing bodywork practice
This is not a work-trade position where you miss the training.
You are a student first.
Exchange responsibilities are intentionally limited so that you can remain present for your own experience.
Applications will close once all three practitioners have been selected.
Founder of The Embodied Warrior School of Yoga + School of Sound Healing
Megan brings together something that is still surprisingly rare in the sound-healing space:
deep reverence for the energetic work + a serious respect for science, education, ethics and scope.
With a Master's of Science in Applied Health Physiology, more than a decade in yoga and wellness education, 100+ hours of specialized sound training, and years facilitating internationally, Megan teaches practitioners to understand both the measurable physiology of sound and the less measurable art of human presence.
Her background also includes 24 years of classical ballet, university-level teaching, personal training, yoga education and international retreat leadership.
Since founding The Embodied Warrior in 2017, Megan has led trainings and retreats internationally and built education programs designed around one central belief:
“Not only is it educational, it is also so transformative and empowering. Megan truly puts her all into these trainings, and it shows. The knowledge and empowerment The Embodied Warrior offers is unmatched.”
— Jess, Sound Practitioner Graduate
“My training with Megan was extensive, informative and highly crafted... with Megan you can trust that what you are receiving is of high quality and know that the safety of all is being ensured.”
— TEW Graduate + Therapist
“I decided it was time to do something for myself. Instead of filling up everyone else's cup, I filled my own... This training left me with support, new friends, community, connection to myself and so much more.”
— Mallory, Sound Practitioner Graduate
Certification is one milestone.
Integration is where your practitioner identity becomes real.
For many students, the most vulnerable part doesn't happen while surrounded by teachers and classmates in Costa Rica.
It happens when they come home and think:
Okay. Now what?
How much should I charge?
What instruments should I buy?
How do I structure my first session?
Am I actually ready to lead this?
Should I add sound to what I already do or create something separate?
How do I talk about this without sounding like everyone else?
What happens if someone cries?
How do I find my first clients?
Learning how to facilitate sound is one thing.
Learning how to confidently take what you've learned and bring it into the world is another.
That's why your October certification doesn't end when we leave Costa Rica.
Every student in this cohort receives three months inside The Business of Sound Healing Mastermind — a post-certification container designed to help you bridge the gap between becoming certified and actually putting your training into practice.
Because the goal isn't for you to return home inspired, unpack your instruments... and wonder:
Now what?
Over three months, we'll explore the practical side of becoming a working sound practitioner — so you can begin creating offerings that feel aligned, ethical, professional and uniquely yours.
Turning Your Certification Into an Offering
Move from “I completed a training” to confidently creating something people can actually experience — whether that's a sound bath, private session, workshop, retreat offering or an integration into the work you already do.
Pricing + Packaging Your Work
Learn how to price your offerings, think about packages and collaborations, and create a model that makes sense for your experience, audience and goals.
Finding Your Place in the Sound Healing Industry
You don't need to look or sound like every other practitioner. We'll explore your strengths, your existing experience and the people you're most equipped to serve so you can begin developing your own practitioner identity.
Marketing Without Becoming Someone You're Not
Learn how to communicate what you do, educate your audience, build trust and invite people into your work without relying on fear-based or exaggerated wellness claims.
Collaborations + Opportunities
Explore partnerships with yoga studios, massage practices, wellness spaces, retreats, corporations and other practitioners — and how to create opportunities before you have a huge audience.
Ethics, Scope + Professionalism
Continue developing the professional foundation behind your work so that the way you market sound is as responsible as the way you facilitate it.
From Idea → First Offering
Most importantly, you'll be encouraged to actually do something with what you learned.
Not someday.
Not once you own every instrument.
Not once you feel 100% ready.
We'll help you identify the next right step and begin building from there.
Maybe sound becomes an entirely new business.
Maybe it becomes an additional revenue stream inside the wellness practice you already have.
Maybe you begin hosting monthly sound experiences.
Maybe you incorporate it into massage, yoga, coaching, retreats or corporate wellness.
Or maybe you don't know exactly what it becomes yet.
You don't have to.
The training gives you the foundation.
The mastermind gives you three months to begin discovering what your version of this work actually looks like.
Business of Sound Healing Mastermind value: $1,200
The Business of Sound Healing Mastermind gives every October student three months of continued education, community, business development and integration after Costa Rica.
For some practitioners, that will be exactly the level of support they need.
For others, the vision is more specific.
Maybe you're ready to launch an offering, integrate sound into an existing business, navigate a career transition, refine your facilitation, or you simply know you move faster when you have someone in your corner looking directly at your work.
For those students, there are two optional ways to work with Megan more closely after the training.
These aren't additional courses or more information to consume.
They're opportunities to take everything you've already learned and receive personalized support applying it to your practice, your business and your next chapter.
Choose the level of support that meets you where you're going.
